proof here that the 997 is a genuine sensible supercar... complete with baby seat :)) Sad to say I still haven't driven her, I had a brain tumour removed last year and am not allowed to drive until November :( I promised myself my dream car when I recovered. This one came up and was so special I bought it a little early!! The wife isn't complaining though !

I gather you like red motors [:D] Looks fantastic in those pictures, I really hope that it is helping with the motivation to return to the driving seat- and wish you a speedy recovery. garyw

Thanks Gary, It hasn't bothered me too much not driving, but now I'm desperate to take to the roads again !! I have managed 15mph from 1 end of the drive to the other. I could do more but don't want to flick pebbles up :)) I actually wanted a GT silver one but when I saw the Carmon Red It had to be red again ! .. They actually parked it next to a Gt Silver turbo in the showroom when we went to collect and knew I had made the right choice, although the other one did look beautiful too... Hey lets face it they all do ! Licence forms all ready and filled out.. Can't post off until 11th September! I was going to try a begging letter to the DVLA explaining it would be really kind of them to let me have it back for my birthday in September being my 40th and all. If there was a Porsche enthusiast working there I could direct it straight to them, they would understand .

Hi Just thought I'd pop up and say hello. I'm a 997 owner and frequent poster on the 911uk forum. Cheers

Hi Peter Welcome to the 997 area of Porsche club, don't believe everything that you read over there [;)] Some of us are OK [:)] garyw

Which ones would they be then? I think we should be told! [:)] Regards, Clive

Those seats with the extra shoulder boulster section were known as 997 sports. Available with manual fore/aft adjustment and electric back rake or full electric operation version. Heating option also available.

Hi Liam, Sorry for late reply, I haven't logged in for a few days ! I bought it from the Porsche Dealership in Sheffield. They ordered it in for me when I bought the car. It has the Porsche logo. Their list price was £360 inc vat but I paid £300. There are other options that fit in the 997/996 from the likes of halfords but apparently need 'modifying' to fit properly. I've taken the seat base out of my car (just velcro'd in) to protect it from getting scuffed by the child seat and it also now fits much better. Its quite heavy and no idea who the official manufacturer is. I looked at halfords to see if they had the same (branded) one but nothing like the Porsche one. I've also used the seat in both my other cars and it fits far better than the Brittax one we bought. It has Isofix but none of my cars do so I can't say how good it is from that point of view. My little girl doesn't tend to fall asleep in it though but thats because she's sat in a 997 4S with a 3.8 straight six directly behind her and shouts brum brum. She also says night night brum car and kisses it when I cover it up and close the garage!!! (A future Porsche fanatic in the making I think... she's 2 so its very cute to see :) !! ) On that point , they do 3 different age group seats. Mines the one from 18 months to 5 years. If you need the seat quite far back it will need to be behind the passenger seat and naturally the little one must take their shoes off so not to leave marks on the back of the seat. My daughter sometimes puts her feet on the chair tilt switches :) Oh and no biscuits allowed whilst child is in car seat in car. Stick to my rules and the baby will love you forever letting you finally have a trip in the Porsche :) Good luck shopping :)

Full electric adjustment in mine Geoff I knew they were ordered as an extra but all I can say is ...Very comfy and have a wonderful view of the dash :)

Have just joined the 997 forum and wanted to introduce myself and my new 997. The car is a 2009 997 Gen2 Carrera PDK in Aqua Blue. My first foray into 911 ownership and loving the experience, especially the Sport Plus mode - certainly gets the pulse racing. Based in the North of Ireland so probably not too many local members on this site. However, I'm sure I will make great use of the forum in the months and years ahead and look forward to sharing experiences. Alan
