New members welcome and photos

Hi to all on the PCGB Forum. I just subscribed to PCGB and I want to introduce myself. My name is Hans, I am an electrical engineer, I live in the Netherlands near the German border and I own a 993C4 1996 and a 997 Turbo 2007. I enjoy driving, not especially on race tracks, and I enjoy doing maintenance and repairs. My first repair was a 964 engine with a big end damage. After 2 years I sold it and bought the 993. Last year I added the 997. My interest lies in all the aspects of motormanagement, drive train and the stability measures. Regards Hans

Have put a (very healthy) deposit on a 997, will post about a hundred full pics of it after I pick it up in a few weeks! Its exactly the spec I was looking for bar the sports seats. Was advertised as having xenon headlamps but that might be the dealer being creative!

Hi everyone, I sold my beloved 993 C2 back in 2011.... and I was sad to see it go... However, I am now back in Porsche ownership, I have bought a 2004 Gen 1 Coupe 2S (tiptronic). It may only be 9 nine years "younger" than my old 993, but it is a completely different car. I love it! Cheers JP

ORIGINAL: flat6 Hello all, just introducing myself as a new 997.1 turbo owner. Very pleased with this 11,000 mile 2006 manual turbo I picked up yesterday in Bonnie Scotland. I lost my composure and didn't take any really good pics on collection; just wanted to get the paperwork done and get in it to drive it![:)]

The 230 mile drive home was effortless in any gear, but the drive was relaxed and composed too (will explore the car a bit more on more familiar roads). Even the torrential rain that lashed us as we stopped in the village of Biggar for their traditional fish, chips and brown sauce, could not dampen our spirit [:)]

Wanted to go a bit old school for my first 911, but not too old school and this fits the bill perfectly. After the first drive i'm even more sure it was the right choice. I was planning to change the wheels to Sport Classic but i'm not so sure now as the turbo wheels do look much better than expected in the metal and are a signature of the gen 1 car.
Congratulations and I hope it is as water tight as your last Porsche ...enjoy [;)]
Fab choice - you'll love it

Thanks Tom Yes i'm really enjoying owning this car. A very 'complete' car. I don't drive it as much as the Spyder which was my daily driver at the time (but the turbo does get driven every week), so i'm still respecting the extra performance. But every drive is an event as it doesn't get used for the mundane peak hour commute. I've just had it detailed including a machine polish. The detailer has seen many of these and in his opinion it's a very good example. Will keep it that way[:)] How are you liking your new steed?
