Exclusive 'Cardboard footwell trim' might catch on though !

i think that naybe a "no cost delete"option[:D]

Upon reflection following the extremely valid points-of-view on this and other boards, I have updated my spec a little:

* Manual Transmission
* Midnight Blue Metallic
* Leather interior in black - saves a little money and also I am hearing stories of other OPCs saying cocoa results in £5k less resales value!
* Rear axle-differential lock - would rather have it and not need it, than need it and not have it!
* Thicker three-spoke multi-function steering wheel - moving more towards leather and less towards fake aluminum
* Rear centre console in leather - I think the most classy option
* Gear lever and handbrake lever in aluminum - still thinking about this one
* PCCB
* Sport Chrono Package Plus
* Sport shifter
* Adaptive sports seats
* Heated seats
* Windscreen with grey top tint
* Electric slide/tilt sunroof
* ParkAssist (parking aid rear)
* Porsche Vehicle Tracking System (VTS)
* Telephone module
* Floor mats

Much like the following:

Blue and Cocoa! [:'(][:'(] What an awful combination!
Am just jealous now with ur amended spec![;)]. Think I need to put the house extension on hold.
Dam, part of the extension is a garage block!
Think I just need to order the damn car and then worry about how I am going to fund it later!
So is it keep the 996TT and buy a Healey 3000 mk3 or just buy a 997TT!
But I have always wanted a Healey!.

I think my wife needs to tighten her belt and stop investing in Jimmy Choo!

..no more midnight blue, no more cocoa.

There's a nice new Lambo Gallardo I saw today that tempted me to cancel my Turbo order. The rip-off premium price tag (estimated at around £17k more than from the factory) though ended the moment of weakness...

Alex,
Drop the mats and let your OPC supply them FOC - that's another £100 saved! [;)]

Clive

Now am really jealous!

Turns out it was 'only' £10k above sticker price. £50k difference over a well spec'ed TT Cab though.

Here's how a recent German Mag compared the Gallardo Spyder VS Turbo Cab:

Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder(e-gear,P Zero Rosso, Ceramics)

0-100km/h: 4.2s
0-160km/h: 9.1s
0-200km/h:13.8s
Max: 314km/h
Weight: 1720kg
Track time: 1:39,0min

Porsche 997 Turbo Cabrio(manual, LSD, PCCB)

0-100km/h: 3.9s
0-160km/h: 8.1s
0-200km/h:12.3s
Max: 310km/h
Weight: 1640kg
Track time: 1:38,0min

Gallardo with better traction, 997 Turbo more demanding on(or near) limit... Steering more precise in 997 Turbo... 997 Turbo stiffer strcture as a cabrio then Gallardo Spyder... Gallardo is more soulfull but, 997 Turbo is way better car overall according to AZ.

For an extra £50k, you'd expect the Gallardo to blitz the Turbo in every category.

When I bought my Cab new a few years ago from anOPC that I had been dealing with for years all I gotFOC was a key fob!!! Good luck for the mats.

You can get mats [;)]
Along with the lecture on how much it costs them per year to give them to you [:'(]

I actually struggled with the key fobs !

It's not the mats that I am concerned with, it's getting the right colour!

These are my favourite 4 right now. The Ruby Red is something I created in photoshop:

Oh dear God no! Not unless you want to look like a nighclub owner with no mates. I don't care what they drive like, there is something so wrong about a convertible Lambo unless you're driving it along an Italian mountain pass (as in the opening credits to The Italian Job). Stick with the TT....

check on you tube 997 turbo versus lambo

Fountain blue is not listed anywhere on initial MY08 spec sheets (or the online configurator), so it at worst a colour to sample, and at best a colour introduced some time during 2008.

Jason (atomic) over in the US has some great pics of a fountain blue Turbo from his trip over to Germany:

So its not a customers car then ?

Its sat in exactly the same place as I saw it in the collection Hall.
That or he was there at a similar time to myself (November)

Ooo, I am all excited!

Went down to my OPC this morning to drop the car in for a little service issue to be sorted out and I:

1) Got a new sales guy (who I have known for ages) as my old grumpy one has left. So I may get some actual responses to my enquiries now.
2) Saw a white Turbo out back - stunnning! Very tempted...
3) Saw a paint sample swatch of Ruby Red - also looks stunning

Going back later this afternoon with a camera to get some snaps of the White and Ruby Red. Will post when I get back.

Sorry the Reds seem to have come out a little more orange than they are in real life:

I'm not a big fan of dark colours as they show the dirty & scratches, but in order for the new 997TT to look good it HAS to be in a dark colour, white, silver, yellow etc kills it, too many holes scoops & plastic bits, looks horrible! Cobalt is too jazzy cheap on the TT (& I like that colour on other Porkers) red goes orange, grey is very nice but may I say a tad... business suit[;)]................................................

Enter Midnight Blue, will need cleaning more often but boy is this the only real colour for the new TT.. IMO of course!
