New Turbo: took the plunge!

Alex,
I can see that you're getting right into this video malarky! :ROFLMAO:
Rather strangely, I prefer the standard wheels with that colour.

I had a 996 C2 in a similar colour (although they called it "Zenith Blue" at the time if I remember rightly). It was very pleasant, didn't show the dirt too badly, set off the lines of the car nicely and created a fair bit of interest from passers-by.

Good choice I'd say if you decide to go with that.
Regards,
Clive.

PS Now let me see - what would a GT2 look nice in????????? [8|] [:)]

BTW - I am nearly half way into beating Yves's record post...

By the time I actually get my Turbo I think I may have passed him!! [:D]

Heartiest congrats, Alex.
It'll no doubt be a great relief to have finalised the spec.
Sounds like a super car.
Good luck with your Xmas present!
Regards,
Clive

That's an awesome spec. And an eye watering price tag I suspect. Fantastic.
Peter

Eye-watering indeed; much more than I originally intended on spending.

But if you are going to spend that much money in the first place, then you should really get the spec right.

You shouldn't compromise on your dreams [:D]

Cheers Clive!! [:D]

Yes, the very definition of a 'supercar'! :)

...if I am really luckly the car may be ready the end of Nov, or early Dec. Cannot wait!

Sorted spec there Alex [:D]

question I now have is being you spent so long over the colour in relation to residuals, how do you feel with the spec that high, the fact the optional extras are worth anything when it come to trade in time ??

I was having a hard time choosing colours before the residuals issue even entered into the equation. The "˜apparent 6-9k loss' really threw me for 6 as I never though it would be THAT bad. I do now agree however that most of it is just BS from the OPC, which is why I have relaxed more on my large options list.

The most 'costly' options on my list are all things I would consider must haves in order for my transition from my C2S Cab to be worth-while. In order of decreasing price from the top:

  • PCCB - I loved the feel of the PCCBs on my Millbrook test day
  • Sport Chrono Package Plus "" essential for resale given the overboost functionality
  • Porsche Vehicle Tracking System (VTS) "" no choice
  • Electric slide/tilt sunroof - standard
  • Rear axle-differential lock "" 700 quid for a better and safer (like when it snows) setup
  • Adaptive sports seats "" have now, a must have in my opinion

If I don't get much back later for the options at least I will have enjoyed them to the max along the way. I have done so in my current, also highly spec'ed, C2S Cab.

I'm pleased you saw the light.. as others have said, buy the car for you not the next owner.
If it is going to be a keeper then its certainly worthwhile treating yourself [:)][:)][:)]

Just the long wait now...[&:]
