Porsche 944 Turbo Restoration - Picture Heavy

I suspected that it would be, and I think that you did too. Any idea how many miles on the new block?

I've been looking forward to doing this job for 3 years[:)] refurbishing the headlight mechanism I decided to keep the original headlight units but polished the glass and painted the bowels with high temp paint, i,ll get some super brite bulbs and the direct headlight loom next week I ordered all the small plastics clips I could find from OPC as these seem to age quickly, plated everything part way through

After 3 coats of Polytrol the units looked like......

total cost £12 in clips and the plastic bearing things, £30 in plating and loads of cleaning

My heater unit was looking a bit rough,

so I plated all the metal bits, cleaned the motor and re-painted and replaced the foam on the flaps

Might as well just spray the whole house! [:D] I wonder if it works on grass.......?

1: every concours trophy for the next 10 years deserves to have your name on it. 2: who else's Polytrol turned up at the weekend after seeing this thread?

Hi Kongsodoken That's some beautiful work that you've done there, the car will surely be a true stunner... well done sir.. Pete

thanks for the positive comments It really helps keep the quality up knowing I'm going to post on here[:)] polytrol is a great product but be warned it is NOT a Diy product it is very toxic banned in the USA ......it is not just wipe on and wipe off it takes 24 hrs to dry and multiple coats are need to get the perfect finish, the good news is the restoration seems to be permanent I did my mirror plastic's 3 years ago and they are still really good.......I get the best results by applying a thin coat wait between 20 and 40 mins then wipe off, a second coat can then be applied straight way again wait and wipe off.....then I wait 24 hrs if the effect is not what I want I repeat....my bat wing look 7-8 coats and 4 days[], I use a scotch pad if the part is scratched to dull the scratch the polytrol then hides the fine pad scratches.

Thanks Ken, I watched a few YT videos around application too. How does it effect painted surfaces? I'm thinking about the rear bumper rubbing strip, should I mask off the paintwork either side?

I removed mine just be carefull it does not get under the masking tape it will stick like mad I,m currently in Northern China suffering major jet lag so NO updates this week[:(]

Back from china [:)] been mainly cleaning and preping parts got to get a move on now, Capricorn have my engine and all being well should be ready to be installed in 6 weeks...... So today i fitted the Radiator all new rubber bits and the solid water pipe was powder coated I know this stuff may have to come out to fit the engine but I want to know I have got everying headlights completed, and new clutch master cylinder and resivoir installed
