Porsche Spotting

Lovely shiny Guards Red "S3" trundling through Borden in Hampshire this lunchtime...of course I was in my company car so no waving or flashing ensued.

What's an S3? Didn't know that one. Is it a 968??

Black Turbo or S2 going down the hill from Birdlip at about 730am today, the car had a bridge spoiler and plate starting with A.
Also another Turbo today outside the Barn Cafe (near the DVLA test centre) in Hereford at 1000 am. This one was silver on D90s with a bridge spoiler too.

I've not seen many with bridge spoilers, then I get 2 in one day, as usual I was in the work hack.

Saw a shiny Guards Red 944 (couldn't tell what spec it was due to motorway crash barriers in the way but fairly sure it was a Turbo or S2) going North on the M1 near Watford Gap yesterday. I was going South in my S2 and may have just spotted a wave, sorry, no wave back as I only just saw you out of the corner of my eye!

Also saw 2 yes 2 356's! One lovely black cab also going North on M1 and another hard top in dark red going South (as far as I remember). Not sure about the etiquette for other types of Porches so forgive me if I offended by waving like a maniac! Still more 356's than 944's yesterday so I went home feeling a bit smug!

Finally, I saw a nice looking 993 carrera who decided not to let me out thus blocking me in behind a slow moving Skoda (you received a wave but not with all five fingers! [] ) and was quite merrily following a rather tasty Morgan +8 in British racing green, also on the M1. If by any chance you may stumble upon this post before your next MOT, your driver's side brake light is out but your engine sounds fantastic!! [:D]

Eventful day yesterday and managed to get 500 miles out of a single tank!

Did that push you into a three figures fill up? £96 yesterday for 430 mile tankfull... and I know I have run it lower before...[:(]

I don't know, the light has only just come on this morning so haven't braved the petrol station yet. Also, I've not decided yet whether to continue to fill up with Super or not! Either way I can't see it being cheap.

I put £86 in at 391 miles, bearing in mind that last year I was barely getting 300 miles to a tank I must have slowed down a bit....

Incredible. Spotted my first "proper" 944 on the road in 2011 (beyond those which have also attended the same gathering as I have)!

Turquoise / blue s2 (non bridge spoiler) with a reg something like S*Y 9* travelling towards Edinburgh (or the Lasswade junction of the city bypass) from Lasswade direction at 5.30pm.

Maybe returning from Thirlestane Castle as I also drove past a few other "classics".

Looked lovely although it did take a few seconds for it to register as it's my first sighting this year!

I was in the "other" car with the kids so there was no flashing lights or waving from me. [:(]

Gold 'B' reg 944 in Peterborough. It travelled down Thorpe Road past the junction I was waiting at in my rover 75, then went all the way round the roundabout and back up Thorpe Road.

It looked very nice!

Saw a fellow C reg LUX in the fastest colour [;)] today in Nottingham on the Abbey Bridge, about 5pm ish.
Looked absolutely lovely and shared a friendly wave with each other! That made me smile for ages :)

Hope he's on the forum, looks like it had black outer sills that interested me - wondering where he got them and had them done at, looked really good actually - black on red tends to do!

There was a red 'C' reg for sale on autotrader a few months back that had black sills. IIRC it was a midlands car too. I wonder if it's the same car?

S2 / Turbo in red heading up the M6 near Knutsford around lunchtime - I was heading south in the van in lots of traffic behind an "abnormal load"

Gold 944 Lux in Neilston (Glasgow) just after 6 tonight. Early model with black teledials, toast rack and Irish number. Was about to wave, then remembered I was in Wife's BMW.

Alan.

Quite possibly then!
Hope he signs up and sees this :) That was only the second ever 944 I've seen in Nottingham :(
Be good to have someone local to natter with about 944s and swap war stories!

Anyone know anything about these 'black sills'?
