Rutland 2015 - THE 944 meet

I've got a shorter run up than lots of you, starting at Brampton about 20 minutes south of Peterborough services. I plan to get to the services a bit earlier than those of you travelling from S Mimms, so keep an eye out...... I don't suppose I can cordon off a parking area!

I'm at Peterborough Services already enjoy a lovely breakfast. Blue sky and sunshine[:D] see you all later.

A quick run home following a great morning. Many thanks to Andy for organising and great to meet everyone (too many names to remember). I hope you enjoyed lunch and you all got home safely. Cheers, Mike

A good run home - Mike was that your 944 on the A14? At least good until central London , some joker had moved a diversion sign so that I was in a group of four cars that was diverted down a tiny back street and there was a lot of trial and error until I found London bridge. Andy, thanks for organising! An excellent day.

What a fantastic day out Rutland was. We need to extend a huge vote of thanks to Andy and Lin Watson for organising this on our behalf. Whilst it might seem like a simple thing, I know the amount of effort that goes into it. Discussions with the pub around numbers and menus, getting permission from Anglian Water to use the Rutland site and arranging a special parking area, keeping track of all our menu choices and collecting the deposits. It takes considerable time. All done voluntarily for the benefit of the 944 community. Forty seven 944s is a new record for the Rutland meet, and I doubt we'll see that many 944s together again this year.

Well good day at Rutland good run up from Mersea and nice to see so Meany 944 altogether bit of a hic up on the way back seemed to not enjoy exseleration but settled down over the 108 miles home😊 so thanks to Andy for sorting it all out well done mate

Seconded. I don't think any of us really appreciate how much time put in by Andy, unless he delegated it all to Lin of course! Great to see Glenn from PC Leicester there with his family. The first place to call for new parts every time, he'll post things out as well. If you enjoyed today there are loads more events throughout the year all over the country. Keep an eye on here, Tipec, and the Facebook group. Or, if there's something near you post it here and see if anyone wants to join you. [:)]

Thanks for the kind words Guys it was a great day and to have so many cars in attendance for an unofficial event was just fantastic, one of the most outstanding things was the fact that guys and girls turned up even though their 944 wasn't available and ex owners making the trip too! After last year's event we had hoped for a gathering of 30 this year - we smashed that with 47 Wow! 12 cars met at South Mimms then joined up with the 10 at Peterborough, a 22 car convoy to Rutland water was impressive [8D][8D]
