Something i have been working on!

Well done Mark, I have been trawling through the results. Who was the white S2? I thought EMC where going to run a white S2 at Oulton. My mate Ian was there last week and took a picture of a white S2 in final prep, ISTR its the one built from my old body shell.

Anyways Mark, remember the thread about Oulton and the best line through Druids, as the forums current race ace what do you reckon?

Well done Mark, you drove like a pro and the car looked fantastic on track.

It's fair to say that none of the above would be possible without EMC, their knowledge and support is peerless . . . though I'm not sure Pete Morris and that chap Paz are much help!!

I hope you're basking in sunny glory today dude [:D]

WELL DONE [:)]

Mark, that was one good result. Bates & White are very experienced ex-PCGB racers, so to be within a whisker of them is just brilliant.
Times very consistent as well, and close to breaking 2 minutes.
My best testing at OP on Friday was a 2.00.19 but need to get consistency at that level and hopefully shave another second off to be competitive in PCGB.

Do you benefit from doing it as a 1 driver entry? probably so as it is easy for 2 men teams to get it wrong.
See pdf here of results: http://www.tsl-timing.com/cscc/2010/102364.pdf

Neil - Morris & Eacock where in their new white 944, not the BMW, is that your old shell?

Yup, that is the one. I could tell its mine by a couple of odd tell tales at the back of the shell and the fact they had my number plates up on the wall, and of course they told me its my old shell [:D]. Funny that the results say Eacock/Morris BMW 325 as like you say Paul I believed they would be out in the white 944.

Hopefully picking up my car next week, got me go racing pack, studying the rules and looking for an ARDS slot soon. Can't wait to get out on track and more than a tad jealous of all you guys out enjoying the racing. You especially Mark as your racing 'career' has got of to one hell of a brilliant start. Keep it up mate.

Big Dave has been posting over on PH about race suits so it looks like those guys will be out soon. Starting to hot up guys.

The result with all the lucky breaks and help was good, but really feel like i am "settling in" a bit more in this racing lark even if things were not so good, it is a bit addictive.... !i always told myself i would miss a few races but i think i would go bannanas at home or just watching from the sidelines, the addiction to the whole day is something i was not prepared for....Neil looking forward to seeing another maritime 944 out on the grid soon![:)]
Paul and Neil thanks for the kind words!!I reckon with the new settup and a tyre brand swap i can go a bit quicker the Toyos were working much better with the new Geo and suspension settup but wow do they go off by the end of the race..![&:][:D]
The white 944 S2 was thundering round and i was trying to keep up with Mr Morris and try and benefit from his experience,he is great at cutting through traffic it was like a day at school,he never gets out of shape and is so smooth,i want to be just like him when i grow up[:D]!

Patrick - if only we could use floating discs in PCGB racing, I for one would be first in the queue!    Over slowing is not such a bad thing, you can then get maximum power down a bit earlier which has distinct benefits.

Some questions:    Are the rotors still handed  ie with the directional cooling slots?  Also, as you are using the harder PFC 01's on the front do you find the rears grabbing a bit on turn in as they are softer?  I assume you have not tried PFC 97's on the front.

NB  About your 2nd set of pads that seemed less good, I have read somewhere that dry storage is important for such race pads, maybe your supplier was not storing them as properly as they should have been.

Sorry Paul I missed this one. Yes, they are directionally vented but as they are just the rotors by themselves then you just switch them around with the hats I believe. No I haven't tried the 97's all round. It was recommended to me to try the 01's up front. So far so good.

I guess it's possible although from appearances there was nothing to suggest that. The symptoms were in line with what others have described as a firm but frictionless pedal if that makes sense. Supposedly due to a film build up from other pads?

Hi Mark

Here is a quick picture from saturdays racing.

I think this was just before you had a little moment
and went into 2nd place.

Not the best pic as from my I Phone

Cheers

Very nearly stuffed it!![:D] i made a clumsy geargange with the yellow 911 right up my chuff and did some fishtaling..... at one point i was going into the barrier.... all i could think of was "oh no this could be expensive" but i flukely managed to turn it around and got straight back on it,when we crossed the line i was 2 secs behind but i got some good advice from a wise old sage next time just ignore the rear mirror and get on with it,the guy who beat me even admited he was trying to fluster me as he new how inexperienced i was,and it worked!,that time only though,i will learn from mistakes for sure.....,if only................[8|]!!!!
Once again thanks for coming Lee it was great to see you,Cadwell is the next date after the Spa race if anyone fancies a day out..?[8D]

Would be great to see you!24th July for Cadwell(I hopefully have a place),before that there is a 1 hour race at Spa on 2nd and 3rd....

Dunno yet the blue car deffo can't come as it will be at EMC being sorted for the Spa race at the beginning of July,so if I come it will be spectating or in something else[:)]

You must be pretty excited about doing Spa. Very busy season Mark, I have been looking at the remaining calendar and its either concentrate on the last 4 races or get a shift on for Cadwell. The last 4 races in particular come together in one thick and fast lump.
