The modifications continue - Manthey coilovers incoming...

true but the hub setup stuff cannot check caster I think, it's worse kit than the OPC already have.
Yes - that is correct. It cannot.
When RPM first used on my 981, they did initial setup on the MR hub kit and then had to put it on the traditional Beissbarth/Hunter to sort caster.
But if the OOTB MR setup is still quite mild - might not be too much of an issue anyway.

A further aspect often missed is rake and ride height. These need to be set in conjunction with the camber/toe/caster. As I have found too low can severely reduce effective damper control (front height) or in other cases cause tyre/wheel arch interference perhaps needing 964RS style rolled wheel arches.

Yes… really important yes.

Ride height definitely effects damper performance… you need to ensure that the piston is within a sweet spot window of operation for compression and full droop, and that you have enough overall travel.

I spent time over the winter chasing a new ride height in order to eradicate a little bit of passenger side rear tyre rubbing under extreme load… we tried raising the car a little and adding some rake. Whilst the car was still quick, i couldn't quite as comfortable over a couple of events, as i was getting bobbing and excess body motion as a result of the extra ride height and travel (with my default damper settings c/r) so I’ve gone back to previous set up and have lived with the tiny bit of rubbing, for the better overall balance.

No updates on my car as yet, the Service Manager I deal with is out of office for a few days so I'll catch up with him early next week.

However, it seems the Manthey Kit for the regular GT4 has now been approved as an offical Porsche Tequipment upgrade:

For the princely sum of £23,644.97! 🫣

The coilovers are available separately:

For a punchy £15,889.96!!!!!:oops::oops: Currently twice the price of RPM Technik and JZM Porsche, or buying them yourself direct, although I suspect those prices are going to shoot up any day now.

It seems I may have got in just in time...

As we've discuss - absolute joke to essentially double the price of something like this...OVERNIGHT.
They are offering an option for existing Full Kit owners to true-up to the new version... if this is like the 991 GT car conversion - then its new top hats with new branding and Porsche P/N.

I had already preceded them and used the 4RS plastic front underbody aero kit... which replaces the previous beautiful but truthfully impractical carbon fibre aero guides.... so really they are charging more for EVEN less exclusive parts.

Initially the Manthey website and Porsche Tequipment were showing different things...Manthey Website said 4-way damper, Tequipment said 3-way.

I message them to clarify and it is the exact same 3-way kit that I already have and I all the other bits already.

Someone asked so what do you get for your £23k then... I said.. Lightweight Wallet option!.

If you look on the purple car it actually has the headrest covers. So not sure if that's an off list extra still.
I'll sell you mine... lol, in beautiful racing yellow stitching to perfectly finish your interior.

Full handbag status

It doesn't explicitly say, but Tequipment prices are usually just the parts. However, I'm not sure about the full kit prices.

Well the car is finished but I've been busy with work and can't get to my OPC to pick it up until tomorrow after work (Friday). The workshop manager has driven the car and his comments in our WhatsApp chat were:

"Well I have to say it drives mint, just done a road test and it's ace (y) "

"You will love it, so responsive (y)"

Is it tomorrow evening yet????? 😁

What geo have they put on ? a MR one to keep Porsche happy or your own, as you had top mounts and toe links with much higher settings than MR (Porsche) UK use. So have your OPC then dialed it back down ?

Nice one. Soon you can then start to learn to hunt 992 GT3 MRs and 991.2 GT3 RS

Official Porsche number for MR kit as per tequipment literature is -2.6F and -2.2R

Yep, so it's pretty much as I had it before I dropped it off with regards to cambers. I expect the ride height and rake may have changed, it was standard before. Don't know about the toe settings, but I suspect similar to how I had it anyway.

Skimmed through your post before putting mine up but for some reason I thought you had a GT4 RS! Seems like we're on a similar journey.

I got the MR rims + mesh guards for the intakes - 24k seems very steep, especially since it doesn't look like they include the rims? RPM Technik selling a full MR setup for 24k including the rims but excluding fitting, might be worth considering: https://rpmtechnik.co.uk/cayman-gt4-upgrades/. Personally I'd spend 24k on all the parts including the rims and 2k on a good independent doing the installation 😜 even without the rims I reckon you'd save a good 7 grand. You really have to consider if maintaining the OPC resale value is going to make up for the astronomical maintenance costs they have, but I respect that everyone has their own feelings toward such things
