Hi
My details -
Car: 996 C2, 2000
Renewal Date: 16/06/07
Age: 40
Postcode: RG7
Occupation: Tech Director
No Claims Bonus: 9+ years
Protected: Yes
Where Kept Overnight: Driveway
Cover: Comp
Drivers: Me + wife
Licence held/time: 23 years
Useage: SD&P & Class 1 business use
Mileage limitation: 17,000
Legal Protection: Yes
Accidents: 1 at fault 03, 1 flood 03 - both within protected ncb though
Convictions: No
Tracker required: Not required
Insurance Company: Hastings Direct
Premium: 650
Excess (Accident and theft): 500
Notes and warning: Admiral quoted £1100, Swiftcover was close to £650 but wouldn't do protected NCB.
*** However, as I found out last week when my car went into Porsche for some minor repairs, Hastings would not cover a Porsche as a courtesy car. After several phone calls it turns out that Hastings policy (which is not written down anywhere in their literature) is to only cover courtesy cars under £20,000 in value. I'm not sure how they can ever cover a courtesy car for porsche, bmw, mercedes, jaguar etc... The garages apparently now no longer provide insurance for their loan cars - so being insured with Hastings means I am unable to get my car serviced easily! I am trying to find out what happens in the event of an accident, since my chosen repair garage would of course be Porsche - who would then provide the loan car! ***
If I change insurance - has anyone tested their insurance company's courtesy car policy?
