TiAL Wastegate group buy

By the wonders of modern telecomunications I have just spoken to a chap on the other side of the world, with a strange accent the like of which you only get in American TV programmes.

Got mine ordered [:)]

Have gone for .8 bar spring as that seems to be the norm.

Edited to correct grama - no point in even trying to correct spolling.

Naa 0.9 is the way forward.....

Did he say how many have been ordered and when he is getting them in?

I was actualy thinking of going for less than .8 as I had considered going for less boost for running under normal conditions and getting a Lindsey boost controller - as noted previously. I may even change to .5 yet.

Wow [] I too have just used one of these electronic talking devices and ordered mine from Tim. He must be used to our accent by now [:D]

I went for the 0.8 bar, but Tim did confirm that he can supply further springs at whatever rate I want, and it's easy to change

TiAL's are great [:D]

I need to check my spring because I suspect it's a bit high - the car used to want to run 1.5bar with no boost controller and had to be fudged down to 1.01bar.

I notice the money has already come out my account, cheeky barstewards, i will be emailing them tomorrow making sure that they have ordered the wastegates form tial. Theres no reasoin why they cant be sent out by the end of the week and over here in about 10 days at latest....

Who is fitting it themselves?

Shame everyone is not closer to have a wastegate fitting night. Beer and spanners, cant beat it. [:)]

I'm going to fit mine, had the wastegate off to shim it and off before that to get the pipe to the wastegate welded. My mums house has a nice hole in the garage floor which makes it easier. Long way for you to come though Slim! There is a pub next door but one, that does en-suite rooms (17rooms an 8 foot wide banner says that appeared this week) so beer and wastegate swapping could work out [:D]

That does have a degree of appeal - are we talking Christchurch nr Bourenmouth, Christchurch in Cambs or Christchurch NZ?

I have driven from Inverness to Christchurch in one night, its a long way but much nicer in the 944 than in the Nissan Patrol which takes a bit longer.
I have also driven the Nissan to Lithuania, thats a long drive!

So could be a 300 mile round trip. [8|] Might be cheaper just to pay my local specialist, but if we are having a gathering of the Turbots I could still be up for it.

We could send you back with even more bits.
I am going to Africa (hopefully with some scooby driving lights) on the 1 May for 2 weeks so with luck you will probably all have Tials fitted by the time I return anyway. You are welcome to come round and fit mine though!
Tony

Working in a room with no windows in Africa is much the same to working in a room with no windows anywhere else. It Just takes longer to replace anything that was left out of the equipment shipped or my tool box.
