Track Days

This has major potential to be a hoot!The more people that we could get for this the better would be a great 944 forum event!!! C'mon as many as possible,book it now!!!!!!
 
I'm out am afraid. Got a lot going on with work in March and am only allowed limited holiday so won't be able to get the time off then.
 
Currently I should be mid way through a fairly intense 2 week project, if it shifts I will be there! Tony (I did get black flagged at Donny as my up shift was causing an exhaust pop that coincided with the gantry where the noise meter was and it was over the limit - just had to short shift to avoid changing gear by the noise meter)

Really looking forward to this[:)] Having my 944 track wheels (16 inch CS) refurbed in a jazzy colour as they look a bit scuzzy at the minute,don't want to wreck my road tyres and my mint road wheels (mint D90s)[;)] Can't believe I am going to use my black car on a circuit,I blame edd.And Bedfordshire low noise threshold .. So who else is coming?Lets make it a forum Big'un!
 
you've had the black one on a circuit before...I was a passenger in it at Silverstone. we ought to get a few more cars along - there are a few other track prepped 944s about, and even a standard car goes well enough to make it lots of fun plenty of runoff and no Armco (well only 1 bit I think) makes Bedford much less intimidating than some tracks.
 
Yeah I know but ,paintwork,discs,pads etc......I WAS trying to keep it nice and mint but heyho..should go ok on 888s. Would be great if some nice track beasts came out,a real photo opportunity for Porsche post[:)]
 
Hi Mark, I have been in the black one with you on track too! Can you not make the red one a bit quieter with a tail pipe silencer? I suppose the increased back pressure would possibly be a problem, how loud is it? How loud's the 968, at least we might have a chance in a straight line against that - provided you get baulked in the corners :) or just bring the black one. Tony
 
Red one will be slightly too noisy I reckon it's 103db static..Don't want to upset it with more silencing it runs really well as is.. 968 will be at the workshop getting ready for April 6th..(first race 2013) So I will just bring the black one[:D] I did take it to that Silverstone evening as everyone likes to point out[:D] Just planned on keeping it nice,black paint is so soft[:D] Will be a fun social day probably do a lot of standing around and chatting. Tony u need to come to make sure my wheels don't fall off![:D]
 
I am going to post this on tipec too to see if there are any 944ers that fancy a bash around bedford 'drome. I have also asked Promax if they want to get involved and have had a reply from Andy Sweetenham who is keen to attend depending on date. I've got some track day wheels, 17' boxster s ones I got for £97 for 4 on ebay, need a refurb and some rubber, was going for AD08's as I've heard nothing but good things about them, cheaper than 888's and better longevity apparently. Ok, got an email from Sean at tipec they dont wont to run my little advert for a 944 trackday as they have there own in April at Blyton Park, shame but understandable I suppose, he said to ask again in January if we need to fill spaces. Edd
 
I have made a post over on the 968 forum in a semi jolly sales pitch stylee..[:)]lets see if any of our six gear equiped brothers bite!?[:D] Have a look and see if i missed anything out,i did say its an imformal gathering etc..!

Bear in mind if you are considering this trackday the price will go up as more places are taken up, this from Javelin when I booked. Soo don't leave it till later. I'm going to risk looking a fool but have to ask. can someone post a link to the page for booking the track day? I couldn't find it on my phones tiny screen. :(
