what did you do to your 944 today

ORIGINAL: A9XXC And I'd love a trip in the dry!
....and I always thought Mike was such a sensible chap [:D] A slippy track at least spares your stomach the extreme G force that Big Red can generate :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

[:D] She is quick!I sometimes have thoughts like,if she was a bit firmer,or maybe just swap the front seats for buckets but then she would lose that wonderful alround usability and start to look like a track car and she is too pretty for that.In a straight line she monstered a race car, plus a couple of modern 911s, got reeled in ,flames were mentioned [:D] Was hard to put all the power down with it greasy and we had a shimmy coming out of Druids, and it was hard to stuff her into a bend big time, and I had to keep reminding myself to not ride the kerbs!Fun day and really glad I went. I have her on Toyo TR1s and as Mike might agree ,the sidewalls feel a little soft at times under a bit of load [:)]If I do some days next season I am going to put her back on 888s. I took her for a wash and polish today to get rid of the brake dust and rubber spots you get at a circuit, she looks very shiny again[:D] Mike thanks for the Picture disc you dropped by-much appreciated!Your car has a really nice exhaust note, very crisp!

Added more parts to my 944 S2 kit car. Front shock-absorber replacement (the rears were done about 8k ago), new pads (front), new door window scraper seals (both sides), new boot lock seal (LHS), handbrake replaced both sides, new RHS handbrake cable and one new wheel nut.

Had the S2 at RPM PORSCHE SPECIALISTS near Harrogate.they owed me a favour so engine flush , oil and filter change general check over. The old oil before flush added was very clean but after treatment it was black- just shows how effective flushing treatments are , Nick used Wurth engine flush and cleaner. All we could find on inspection was slight play in the bottom steering uj ,not noticeable when driving but will keep check on , and the gearbox mount a little soft/weak , but after 175k miles not suprised. Nick [:D]

Had my noisy power steering pump replaced at PorkaParts and picked up a new badge panel. Highly recomended outfit [:)] Oh and washed the car in prep for Sunday!

Unfortunately had a little Off in the 968 today, hit a Pool of water stretching right across the A14 and hit a Lotus Elan that had had exactly the same accident...probably a Write-off[][:(]

Really sorry to see that, you must be gutted, I know I would be. You are (I assume?) fairly unhurt which at the end of the day is the main thing. Car can be replaced, even cherished ones... Edd

Very sorry to hear that Jeremy. Really bad luck, such a terrible day for driving. Looks like a big rear impact with a tree? Hope you are unhurt at least!

Thanks guys, very annoyed the car was almost there in terms what I needed to do to her. The impact was with a Lotus Elan...not a pretty sight, luckily there was no one in it

Gutted Jeremy! Main thing is you lived to tell the tale, oh and by the way, definite write off!! No maybe about that! Cheer up Stuart

Hope you are okay as said you can replace the car, i presume the Elan had spun off previous to you and you managed to clatter it when you went off ?

Looks a hefty shunt, glad everyone ok - assume you are as you're posting! Car must be a write off - repairable but not economic I think. I've seen ones repaired from that state but they were track/ race cars.

Nasty - glad you are ok though - it was nasty out there today, there was a 3 series BM in the trees on the M1 south of Leicester - big puddle in the outside lane.

Sorry to read this, the car looks like the impact was serious, are you sure you are completely ok?

Glad you're okay. And on the upside, when the insurance money comes through you can upgrade back to a 944 turbo!
