what did you do to your 944 today

I have sat in Edd's seats..luverly ! BTW good choice with the horn push, less bling, did you get the paint sorted after the numpty attack ?

Spent most of the evening searching for the old Android phone I use for data logging, with a view to adjust hot starting on a cold night. Failed to find it, left the car on charge. On the plus side I found the original bypass valve I was looking for weeks ago. Really wanted to drive it but even getting off my driveway would be a wheel spinning mess.

Looks better Edd, wheres it from? I asked about your having rear seats on PH because I thought that I had a spare set of black vinyl rears, which I was going to offer you. I spent the evening in my garage looking for other stuff and it turns out that the spare vinyl rear is, in fact, light grey and off a 968, so not really suitable... Simon

Cheers Jim. Not yet, got quote from Daytona, awaiting funds and time to get it fixed, will be done sometime in new year probably. Edd

Thanks re back seats, don't you have a rear seat delete too?[;)] The horn button is from Italian ebay, what I'd really like is one from Singer Porsche in LA, this guy really knows how to finish a Porsche.

I think he has them custom made, unfortunately not for sale (I asked). Edd

I have a seating conundrum. I have a 968CS rear 'squab', which is essentially carpet on formed fibre board, a set of superb black leather sports seats along with a matching vinyl rear set and a pair of unused but quite old Sparco Revs and Im not sure what to fit. The ideal replacement for you car, I think, would be a rear from a 968 Sport. This is similar to the CS but with small upholstered pads - if youre lucky you will find one from a leather trimmed car and itll match perfectly and look brilliant. Simon

Sports seats, they are great, the only downside is lack of leg side support so you find it more tiring on track having to brace with your knees but it depends on its main intended use I suppose.

I'm quite happy with the script rear seats tbo, they certainly dont look out of place, quite the opposite infact. I did consider a rear delete but as the car is also an only car and driven pretty much everywhere its nice to keep the rear luggage blind, things just look that much smarter with it imo. Edd

Put a fully charged battery on the 220, and took it for a run, 2 months since i have driven a 944 turbo, it felt tight sharp and comfy, treat her to some 97 BP super did 20 miles then back into hibernation, i will get them both a couple of runs out over xmas. Not driving them eveyrday makes you appreciate them, though hats off to do those that do !

Finished moving house on Sunday in it! Realised there was a few odds and ends around the old house that hadn't been moved, so did several trips in the 944. This has only reinforced my girlfriends opinion that it is "a stupid car".

Yeah, but imagine if you had to do that in a boxster. Hmm, you've got me thinking about the genuine roofbars they sold for these cars... i really 'need' a set of them. Well, I've not done much on mine except changing the horrible peeling rear number plate and making a list of things I want to get sorted over the winter. I was due to have a couple of months break from working so I could focus on the car, but unfortunately(/fortunately?) I will be working all the way through. looks like it will be weekends and flood-lit evenings again. I did buy a body-warmer specifically for rolling around on the drive though[;)] After the brand new clutch slave cylinder failed without warning after it was fitted only a couple of weeks ago, the Rover has been off the road waiting for me to have an argument with the supplier. The Porsche has therfore picked up the daily commute and even a trip to Leicester last weekend.

Thats funny, thats exactly what my daughter calls my 944. Also my partner always groans when I say we are taking the 944 and not the Vectra. I don't get it [&:] Was this comment just based around boot capacity. I am always amazed how much can be fitted in but am always mindfull of closing the glass hatch!

I think her characterisation of the 944 as a stupid car boils down to me not driving her and her friends to Bicester on shopping expeditions. Whereas her friend's M5 is "a sensible car" because it can fit four women and mounds of shopping. She has hinted that if I just handed over the keys she might be willing to reconsider her opinion.

Don't do it! It's a trick! [&:] I quite like the fact that the 944 only fits 2 people in comfort, for exactly the reason that it can't fit my girlfriend, her friends and shopping in. (Also, on a side note, it can carry a surprisingly large amount of firewood...)

944?&Porsche World. I hope you all have your latest copy of 911 & Porsche World (Jan 2013) as it turns out to be a closet 944 issue[;)] Don't read the bit on the 944S though if, like me, thats what you have got [&o] Makes a great stocking filler though, hint, hint.

Had my Cup 1 wheels refurbished and stove enamelled white today, looks the dogs dangley bits IMHO Had my winter tyres fitted as well If it didn't get dark at stupid hour would share a picture Suggestions for the centre caps welcome, porsche motif in good nick so paint the remained white or contrast in black? what you think guys?
