what did you do to your 944 today

Even on my phone it looked like Zermatt, but I presumed that it was Rose Silver due to it being described as a 1988 Turbo S. Is it an M758 car or is it an early MY89 car? Zermatt M758 is possible of course, but I havent ever seen one.

You've just made me check the delivery invoice, July '88 car and the engine number is in the Turbo S range so I guess I'm your first. Now when can I have my polycarbonate rear windows ;)

Cutting windows out of polycarbonate is rather like trying to write a uni essay. It takes a great deal of sharpening pencils, tidying your desk and lining up your reference books, before you dare make the first cut...

Chris Grahame ( chrisg) has a zermatt turbo s - with a quite an unusual interior as well. full leather, shiny black interior trim (piano black I think he said) and red leather. (I might not be entirely accurate, it's been a while since I saw his car. internet rumours tell of only 7 non silver rose turbo se's steve simkins has a white one, frenchy has a black one, two zermatts now, and I'm sure I've seen another couple kicking around, possibly a black one for sale.

Black one is here: [link]http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C198231[/link] Belts are overdue, and what the hell does "full history back to 1998" mean? It's either full history, or not....[] If the respray and sills were done properly then it might well be worth the £6K though. I thought there were at least 200 turbo s cars originally in the UK? I'd be surprised if only 7 buyers went for colours other than Rose Silver, but with all the cars that have been advertised wrongly over the years it's hard to know for sure.

I looked at a Baltic blue one, well it was 88 with no sunroof mo30 etc. So assumed it was S never checked the chassis / engine numbers etc. It was,a one owner car but had been kept off the road in a barn for a few years, rubbers were perishing, and I preferred the interior on the 90 car I bought, which also drove better.

For a gentleman of your means Ken, a Porsche parts centre. Theyve been superceded with 968 parts now (with a 944 part number prefix), which is more durable. Theyll come with new front bushes too. Simon

Dragged the beastie up to Stevenage to drop it off at the bodyshop. Took public transport back. I am now traumatised and in need of (several) baths. The sacrifices I make for this car...

Replaced heater clip. 10 minutes and less than a pound, but now I won't be cooked every time I'm in the car. [:)] And gave it a wash. This new paint gets just as dirty as the old stuff. What a con! [8|]

Fitted the final wheel/new tyre that I bought after one of Sheffield City Councils finest potholes claimed both nearside tyres last year. The 7"x16" Boxster rim has been returnedned to its pile in my garage.

It has gone into Daytona Coachworx following numerous recommendations. A coffee would have been good, it would have fortified me against the evils of public transport that were to come!

stripped the control arms and found this[]
