what did you do to your 944 today

Theyre 968parts now Ken, which have a 944 rather than a 951 part number prefix. Theyre more durable and theyll probably last as long as the car. Definitely the right choice for a gentleman with your budget... [:D]

Washed the car yesterday, got back out there and finished off the last few bits I knew I had to fix for the MOT, now have working reverse lights! The switch underneath had a broken wire. Fitted a few new bulbs and put the new steering rack in the boot ready for it's MOT and fitting tomorrow! Hopefully it doesn't fail on too much lol

Thanks they are expensive[X(] so would re-built 968 ones be better than re-built 944 if the budget will not stretch

I would buy new 968 parts or Hartech refurbed 944 parts. 968 wish bones arent easy to rebuild and I think that they only offer an advantage when bought new.

Tried to fit my new gear lever only to find out its bent, Tried to fit the plastic cup on the bottom so I can trail fit it but that split in two. Next I went to do the wiring for my AFR gauge but the instructions say I have two wires to hook up to a datalogger or ems that I did not know I needed for calibration. Then I thought I would tackle the lower control arms poly bushes except the bush has welded itself in place and I am having to cut and burn it out. Sooooo not a great weekend really especially with the arrival of divorce papers yesterday[:(]

Damn, Scott. Hope things go a little better for you in the future! On a more positive note, I came back into 944 ownership this weekend. It's a little different driving a 951 to an S2 is all I shall say!

Sounds interesting - pics required!

When the bodyshop put the bumper back on they didn't put the captive bolts back in for the lights to bolt onto so I had to remove the bumper (although removing it makes it a lot easier to reconnect the lights anyway).

Fitted the lights back in after cleaning them up and replacing all the bulbs. One of my fog lights has a stone chip in it and I don't fancy the expense of replacing one in the future so I fitted the Promax fog light protectors too:

Then everything connected back up and the bumper refitted, not bolted back on in this picture though as ran out of time hence the dodgy panel gap :) I'm really liking the look without the headlight washers. I was going to fit my Seat splitter while the bumper was off but would rather line everything up properly when it's back on:

Steering rack fitted today, Mr Mechanic thinks it looks good under the front and will check the back tomorrow before it's MOT [:)]
