what did you do to your 944 today

Ordered an ABS pump from the states. All being well, next year's MOT might see me put a couple of bulbs back in the dashboard and still pass :)

Will do Jim, weirdly I found it out of one of my box of bits this evening. It's mucky as owt but reads correctly, send me your address and I'll clean it up and stick it in the post :)

Just had news the front end has been resprayed. They're just waiting for the bumper to dry then a quick polish and it's ready for pick up!

Not today - but took the car down to Gatwick recently as we were leaving it there at a hotel while we went to Madrid and Salamanca for a few days - the hir car was an upgrade - an upgrade indeed ... The guy was most pleased with himself when he told me - me less so - upgraded to an Opel Corsa 1.2 - pull skin pudding rice off a wouldn't the. Rearrange. Those Spanish roads are great I have to say - certainly the ones we went on - what I woudn't have given for the 944 on them - dual carriageway but NO traffic and swooping and swirling over the hills towards Salamanca ... beautiful. Not a cone in sight. anyway, car got us down there fine - and then we came back the night of that supposed storm. Round the M25, M11, A14, A1 etc - nothing over 60mph - nice and safe ... car ran like a dream - not a drip entered the cabin ... it's like a new car. Solid as a rock in the wet - the four new tyres help a lot. M25 anticlockwise Kent side STUFFED with cones - no change then. Looking forward to the weekend and doing something - not sure what, but something!

Well after a week away she's back from paint! :D

My 944 would start which the first time ever since i've owned it and I had to call the AA.....it would turn over but would'nt start which I put it down to the damp weather as my car lives outside. I checked the plugs and dizzy and could get a spark but it would'nt start so I gave up a called the AA. The chap turned up and checked the plugs and the dizzy as I had and by chance saw that the king lead was intermitently arcing to either the headlight lifting bar or to the front of the engine which was stopping the car from starting. I have no record of the leads ever being changed so they must be 23 years old, which is'nt to bad. A new set are now on order so I can cure this fault. Hopefully its not raining next weekend.

Yup, price agreed and sorted. Should be ready for the beginning of next week. The guy at the Bodyshop said that it's all been pretty straightforward.

I picked a set of the more desirable sport seats today, at some point I will be removing the burgundy pinstripe covers ready to have them re covered in linen with blue piping and some embroidery on the headrests.

Daryl, liking that front lip.....................looks great (and i like standard looking cars) Dave should be back for xmas, keep away from old ladies in euroboxes !!!

Fitted a new battery and new hatch pins. Bosch S3 007 battery. Same as old one which only lasted 3.5 years which conveniently for Bosch was 6 months after their warranty expired!! Stuart

Thankfully the guy at the Bodyshop stopped messing about with custard and painted my car the right colour!
