what did you do to your 944 today

Wouldnt know where to start with that. [&:] Got a rear valance from Elliot as planned today. Sprayed up and ready to fit. Should make her bum look better.[8D]

Went out for lunch to the Filling Station Cafe in Keswick, recommended, and came home via Whinlatter Pass, nice to have these roads 5 minutes from the door step .......but I could do without all the mountain bikers trying to be heroes on the downhill corners [:mad:]. Time for another hot soapy bath ......car that is. All the best, Paul

Either you are a genius with the spanners and re-indexed the torsion bar in an hour or you just lowered it by adjusting the adjusters on the spring plates .... was it the latter? [;)] Lights-on relay should be pretty easy. If you can identify the sidelights wire and the ignition-on wire, connect a buzzer and a diode between them in series with the relay pointing to the ignition-on wire. That way, if the lights are on and the ignition isn't (i.e you've turned the car off and left the lights on) then the buzzer will buzz. Should cost less than a couple of quid and be a tidy little project for an afternoon. Oli.
 
Had to be on the adjusters! Unless itd previously had holes drilled... Some cars have most of the adjustment on one or both sides used at the factory and some people are lucky and find theres quite a lot of adjustment left.
 
Ahhh...God's Country Rudds, see what you lot are missing [;)] Downhill mountain bikers could use the S2 as a take off ramp Rudds, it will polish out ! The good 944 people of Cumbria will soon be sorting out a few Sunday morning breakfast club meets at a fairly central location with a big parking area and coffee and pig sandwiches, watch this space. All are welcome, especially 944's Due shortly as the weather improves, there will be some classic quality Pork to dribble over, along with the also rans [;)]

I am hardly a genius with the spanners, and yes, it was the latter.... Has dropped it quite a bit, probably halved the gap between the tyre and arch. Seems to drive exactly the same so well happy. Added the 2 piece rear valance fingy today and looks loads better, instead of a mongrel bitch presenting itself.
 
Meant to put the bloody Yorkshire contingent would comment on this in my original post, you do run a good second though, just spoke to God and he has confirmed this fact [;)]

If we're fessing up then I'm a Lancastrian too - a Mancunian technically. I went on a Whisky trip last weekend in the daily driver - Scottish roads = WOW!
 
Ok so it wasn't done in just one day, more like three... Cam belt Balance belt Alternator belt power steering belt New stainless flexi fuel hoses New fuel rail Removed injectors and cleaned them with an ultrasonic cleaner New injector seal kit Removed inlet manifold and detail cleaned and painted silver Cleaned ICV in ultrasonic cleaner Cleaned throttle body in ultrasonic cleaner New water temp sensor Oil and filter change Plugs Air filter New vacume lines Took it out for a spin and te difference is unreal!
 
Lovely Jubbly Phil [;)] The 220 has been up at a friends garage, he changed the rear CV gaitor OS, i have hopefully sorted the diff oil cooler leak, also chopped a 24 mm spanner in half to get at the oil pressure sender with a view to nipping it up and sorting a leak. Today New cam and balance belts, rollers felt fine, standard wastegate refitted along with a new short exhaust section (wastegate to exhaust). Some vacuum hoses changed to black silicon jobbies. Lots of protective under under coat wax applied where deemed required, the old girl is still very good underneath [:D]
 
Spanked it round Cadwell Park yesterday, fantastic circuit but some of the corners require speeds and gears that don't make the best of the boost curve. Managed to snap my power steering tensioner bar . . . Again! I don't know if I've had it on too tight or whether this points to another issue? - personally I think the former :(
 
Washed and drove the 220 as a shakedown after new belts and other bits and bobs, beautiful warm sunshine up here in Cumbria, ended up at the lake shore in Keswick, car was faultless, 4 people died on our county roads today, all involved motorbikes. The A66 was closed on our way to Keswick, car driver and biker both deceased ! Be careful out there.
 
Replaced the oil cooler gasket on the red trackday car,using the ECP kit at £26 which includes the main gasket,2 green O-rings ,2 shims & the rubber seating seal.Did it the hard? way without moving the exhaust headers. I' ve been been getting some emulsion in the header tank since I bought it & had concluded that it was just running too cool after a coolant test indicated it wasn't the headgasket & it has done several track days & Curborough sprint days over the last 3 yrs. But last week ,had to top up the coolant & water seemed to run out from behind the water pump but closer inspection showed it to be coming from the front edge of the oil cooler housing-so was somewhat relieved-a much cheaper fix.[&o][:)]
