Was very surprised to see the test in progress, I thought you were showing off the lovely red anti roll bar.

[:-] is this British understatement?ORIGINAL: 944Scott Hmmm today I checked out the structural integrity of the wing mirror whilst travelling up an embankment on my side, thankfully it passed said test.

I wish I'd taken a photo when I'd loaded mine up for camping. I managed to squeeze an awful lot on there. I even took my 944 to collect a full set of seats and door panels for the MGF because I thought the boot would be better suited to the job than my rover 75. I was right! You should see the looks I get when I pull into sainsbury's and park in a parent a child space. They don't expect me to pull a baby out of the car!ORIGINAL: hibeeg Just love how practical this car is for daily use.

Yes indeed - Andy mentioned it and a couple others that were there at the time. He did say about the bodywork and that you were looking to get it sorted in January ? Who are you using, would be interested to know as am looking to spruce my car's bodywork up next year (though I think its not it quite so much need as yours at the moment !).ORIGINAL: suttersAh you might have seen my heap there? Picked my black turbo up from Leicester after an annual oil service, plugs, filters and yet again swear I can feel it run sweeter???! Also had a final tweak to the newly repaired AC system that works a treat-was a massive job with dash being removed by Porsche Leicester, and the dash lights have been fixed after a temporary glitch with a couple fixed that I didn't know were broken so it's as bright as a Christmas tree now, amazing what a bulb swap can do. Also finally ditched the Knight rider look(black wheels)and fitted a mint set of D90s in silver, car looked ace in the workshop and apparently got lots of positive comments.I made sure I mentioned to a few people there that they are going up in value aswell which is nice at last.[8D][]

Confirmation Bias? [] I always thought my turbo ran better with new plugs. Glad to hear the wheels are sorted - that's kept me awake at night after seeing it at PC Leicester last year.. [] Which one to bring to Rutland..?ORIGINAL: MarkK Picked my black turbo up from Leicester after an annual oil service, plugs, filters and yet again swear I can feel it run sweeter???! had a poke about in some new rust today [] Poor old thing has sat on my driveway out in all weathers for the past 18 months SORN. I can just get the car into our new garage ....trouble is I just can't get out of the bl**y car once we are in there![] So all our rubbish sits in the warm and dry, whilst poor porker sits out in the weather being pee'd on by all the local cats and dogs.[] Mot'd the old gal last week and spotted some serious rusting at the bottom of both front wings . Its covered by trim so its easy to miss any rusting until the paint starts to blister by which time there is a serious rust problem set in. A load of mud had accumalated under the plastic trim,( which never dries out) , so its continuously damp, Ideal conditions for rust. I raked out the mud as best I could and applied plenty of Vactran rust converter . Hopefully it should hold the rust until spring when I can remove all the plastic trim and take stock.

I have to say, I am also firmly in the 'no plastic trim' brigade. It does look kinda nice if you have it all lined up straight and it's nice and black, but you really don't miss it when it's not there. Given that it represents a MAJOR rust trap (particularly the little bits under the wings) I think that all but the most fanatical S2/Turbo owners are better off without them. (An aside, but have you seen how much the trims are from an OPC? They are shockingly expensive! []) Oli.

Not actually my 944,but went with my nephew to Porsche Leicester to drop his freshly aquired 1990 turbo off for its "first" service and a poke around to ensure it was as good as he thought,he is very pleased with it hopefully he will come to Rutland with me and introduce himself on here...![]
Peanut, Yes, take them off. It won't take long as they're only held on with some 10mm plastic nuts. (Maybe 13mm, I can't remember). And give it all a good wash, and if you aren't going to drive the car for a bit I'd spray the whole lot (outside and in) with some waxoyl, or similar. Yes, it'll make a mess but it'll clean off easily enough with some white spirit and the protection it will offer for that period will be worth every penny. Trust me, the bodywork will thank you warmly for it. Oli.

too late Oli ....[&o] My body has had it already ! My back aches and I have arthritus in my ankles and.........oh you mean the car [] Yes I'm going to pull it all off ...just can't face it at the moment. I know once I remove it all I'll have hours of scraping and wire brushing rust treating etc . I don't want to be depressed Christmas week [] I'll take some pics and report back after the festivities are over.ORIGINAL: zcacogp Peanut, Trust me, the bodywork will thank you warmly for it. Oli.

I wheeled out the poor neglected turbo. Needed to re-adjust the wiper stalk after removing during cab problem solving as indicators no longer cancelled after a left turn! Also topped up the oil, checked tyre pressures then had a wee blast to check the turbo still works. It does, very well! I have to say now I own an S2 and a turbo, as much as the 211 S2 ponies deliver a nice crisp shove up the road, no lag, the turbo just destroys it for grin factor as all 300+ ponies charge in simultaneously as the wee boost gauge racks up about 1.2 bar! I remain a turbo man!! Stuart
