what did you do to your 944 today

Nice progress :) Make sure to install the crank seal from Elring, as the ones from other suppliers almost always leak. It should be installed flush with the block/sump. I would also suggest lightening the flywheel while it's off, and cut the bellhousing so that you can install it back after having reinstalled the crank sensor.

that friction plate wear wise is not to shabby for the amount of miles, and you might as well do the tube bearings while your in there, pain in the A%%% to have to take it all to bits again

Today was TFFT day. Sometime around August last year old RB lost Booooooost. After initial inspection of the possible culprits, to no avail, I thought right, lets open the tool box for winter, up she went on axle stands in the drive for winter, the only time I get to work on my car is from about 3.00pm on a Sunday till or after it gets dark and/or too cold to work. Invoices showed that it was 5 years since the belts were changed and over 10 years since the head gasket was replaced so that's where I started. After too many freezing Sunday evenings using three inspection lamps and a pair of fingerless cycling gloves over nitrile gloves the following work was done. New belts and rollers, head gasket, cam carrier gasket, new wastegate, new cycling valve, turbo checked, new PS hose, various other hoses, exhaust seals and bolts etc, plugs, oil and air filters, fresh Millers 10/40, DME and KLR boxes out and checked, replacement air box cover (thanks Ken). So today was let's see if it all works day. A run down the road for some well needed fresh go go juice showed two things...... Horay she Booooosts, hence TFFT, but the brakes are crap so still work to do.

I drove it like I stole it [;)][:D] First drive Its done in nearly 2x years . Some idiot in a Golf sat on my bumper at 70mph for a mile or so, so I thought what the hell, dropped a gear and floored it . By the time I changed up again he was a spec in my rear view mirror and pulling into the slow lane. simple pleasures but it still made me smile

Changed the starter motor 16x minutes start to finish ! [;)] Not surprisingly its a lot quicker the second time ya do it lol[:D] It sounds nice and smooth and quiet now instead of like a old cement mixer full of stones

Monday - drop off at exhaust place Tuesday - tidy up garage Wednesday - collect with shiny new exhaust Thursday - new fuel pump and wiring AFR gauge in Today - rolling road to setup Apexi EBC Saturday - mount FIA plates to make 4 point harness a 6 point Sunday - drive to Lincolnshire Monday - Cadwell Park with OpenTrack :)

ORIGINAL: A9XXC Dropped a fridge door on the wing............
Oh no! much damage? I refitted the roof trims, seals and new clips today plus touch in a few stone chips, fit a new DME temp sender and do a temp repair to the hole I found in the metal intercooler pipe.

Had the rear seat folding mechanism rebuilt as it wasn't latching shut, would slam open on hard braking :) Gear stick re-fastened after last garage failed to do it up, had the gear linkages adjusted for a smoother transition between gears. Going to have to drop a grand on getting the linkages replaced along with the fuel lines :-/

Dent 3/4 of the way across the wing, cracked off 1"x 1/2" of paint. Gomost of dent out and some paint on to protect. Very annoyed at myself, thought I was clear of the cars but tge wind just took it the extra foot. Car needs a respray anyway!
