what did you do to your 944 today

Picked my car up from Micheldever Tyres, new Toyo's on the rear and 4 point laser alignment. Test drove the car down the A303 to Stonehenge. The car has been transformed - awesome! (Micheldever Tyres - highly recommended "World's busiest tyre depot" apparently)

Nice one Mark, fingers crossed it is a good'un I had a little play on Saturday following a Fiesta ST 'S' he was fairly nimble around the bends and roundabouts, I was scrubbing my cr@p front tyres (P6000s) in painful understeer to keep up with him, but I had to back right off on the exits whilst his little motor spooled up Went up to Sheffield and back today and she clicked over onto 214,000 miles!

Going out now to remove dash clocks and have a look at connections , have to tap dash to to get rev counter to read sometimes , just like in those early war movies when they are running low on fuel , they always tap the gauge in the hope a few more gallons magically appear ! Maybe if I keep banging at it ,100,000 miles may magically dissapear ![&:]

lol i always have to do that with my rev counter, it adds character! :) i wouldn't want it fixed! incidentally i think its moisture behind the dash as it only sticks after its been raining and is fine once warmed up

Had to take it to the garage as I couldn't get the rear height adjustment bolts loose at all, they even laughed at my windy gun. £50 lighter and the car is nice and low to match the lowered front and the garage also gave it the once over too. Booked in for a full alignment on Monday and then that's that crossed off the list. However, heater decided to only blow hot air at me on the way there so looks like the magic clip needs to be ordered from the OPC too!

Took her to the first day of the Goodwood Festival of Speed - just a glorified motorshow today but the Ferraris and Audi R8's flying up the hill sounded fantastic ! Nice journey back across the Downs too with several opportunities for maximum boost [8D]

Stripped and repaired the spring in the luggage blind as per Clark's Garage. Could be a little quicker to return, but well happy overall[:)]

Just visited a friend near Stuttgart for a track alignment. Notice the home-made fixtures for the emitters - he made them to avoid using the ones originally supplied with the bench, as they normally attach on wheels, which means there is always the risk to damage them. The handling is friendlier now, I had agressive settings before and it was a bit of a handful in tight corners and under heavy braking, now the rear axle feels like it's on rails [:)]

Cleaned both cars as they are off to a local show tomorrow, fitted some Continental Conti 3 to the Turbo S i had on another set of wheels, sorted the brake pad warning light and drove it [:D]

Hi Frenchy, which way around are the pad warnings, does the light come on when the contact is made or broken? My light is on all the time since I replaced my pads, but the sensors cost more than the pads!!

For some reason I missed the 2 post ramp in that pic and thought yikes its standing on 4 tea trays!!

Today I damaged the outer rim on the near side rear wheel against the pavement as I was avoiding a D**K in a Fiat Panda who was driving on the middle of the road! Argh!!! []

Albert, Light comes on when they break / ground to earth, snip the wires and joint them together, the wheels must be off my cars at least every month i do not do loads of miles and will soon spot the pads wearing.

Fatty I think I paid about thirty quid for a full set of sensors from Promax when I refurbed my calipers. They were genuine Pagids as well.

Drove from reading to my Ozzie cousins wedding in Wales. alas the car decided it was going to switch the heat on full blast. After 60 miles it randomly switched off. 30 miles later back on. :-( sunroof also wasn't playing ball. This morning replaced sunroof fuse so we could take the roof off. Still blasting the heat, but roof off made for some fine motoring and we spent the morning on lovely sunny deserted beaches. Car got several thumbs up, plus one older gent who made a comment "very tasty" but I wasn't sure whether he meAnt the Porsche or my girlfriend! The heat suddenly switched off halfway back down the m4 for whatever reason. All through this the car did seem to be running closer than I liked to the top mark on the temperature gauge. Heat on or off made no difference to that So I guess I need to book it into the shop again. Ask them to replace every sensor that might possibly be at fault.

Thanks Chaps Hoovered and cleaned the inside of mine for the second time in 2 1/4 years[&:] Also washed the outside and polished the bonnet...will do the rest during the week

Went to Chatsworth House for R8 concours / excuse for drive to lovely location! About 130 Porsches from 356 to 3.8 GT3RS on a lovely day with great company. Temp gauge / sender still needs sorting but good trip with the roof out and I've a sunburnt head!
