Oh gutted Simon, that's not good? Fluid leak do you think? You can't beat pop-up head lights though, as long as you can still do that you're ok []ORIGINAL: simdel1 I missed the sound of the engine and the school-boy feeling of putting the head lights up so I decided to drive the Porsche to ASDA to do the weekly shop. The clutch pedal sank to the floor and scuppered my plans. []

I think I might need to get the battery charged up so I can pop the lights and make 'brum' noises on the drive until i get it fixed! Looks like it's the master cylinder that's gone. The fluid is now soaked into the carpet [:'(] On an entirely un-related subject, my other half makes a fantastic Cottage pie...[]ORIGINAL: Hairyarse Oh gutted Simon, that's not good? I remember you posting that pic before. I was so worried that I went and checked mine straight away. It didn't seem to be a problem, but now that all the fluid has drained away there's a horrible sticky residue left at the bottom of the resevoir that looks suspiciously like your gloop. I'm going to price up seal kits and cylinders. I'm not worried about stripping and rebuilding the cylinders, but if I can get cylinders for not too much I might just change the lot to have the peace of mind.ORIGINAL: Peanut I was checking my level the other week and found the fluid had changed to a really thick gloop ? I guess I can expect my clutch to pack up soon [&o] Are you going to replace the seals in the master and slave cylinders ? or replace with new cylinders ?

Well spotted David. It is in fact me just getting round to fitting the original replacements!! Just in time for the winter to attack them. [&:] Hopefully these ones will be better. The rears are still in not bad shape after 2 years. My warranty is now up however so here's hoping they last! StuartORIGINAL: DavidL Stuart, Isn't that the second time you've had new front struts from Gaz under warranty?

let me know if you find a reasonably priced source and I'll do the same. The list of work needed on my S2 now is so long I'm thinking of sticking it in my garage until spring .[&o]ORIGINAL: simdel1 I remember you posting that pic before. I would say it can't hurt Simon. I'll give them a smearing at the weekend. I think the solution will be grit blasting and painting them if they rust again. The nickel plating doesn't seem to be the best solution although they look fabulous when new! StuartORIGINAL: 944 man Will greasing them help at all Stuart?
