what did you do to your 944 today

ORIGINAL: Fat Albert Thanks Pauly, will pop in on teh way home tonight and buy one, see if a quick tweak does the trick
You're welcome, just to clarify it's the type that's shaped to fit over the top of the filter, with a 3/8 square drive hole.

Rhys changed the front pads on mine. FYI AtoZ car parts don't have a website anymore, but they still sell off eBay, so Mintex pads are £28 delivered

He was wearing some gloves earlier, but he likes to get his hands dirty! tried my new oil filter wrench thingy but it won't go on, there isn't enough clearance between it and the pipe next to it, will have to re-think

I found that when I did mine the other week, hammer a screwdriver through - did the trick, plus meant I could slowly drain some oil out before releasing the filter completely and getting oil all over the engine

Fitted this...

Thought it has a nice aged patina to it plus the yellow went with the dials. Its nice but sits even lower than the standard wheel, lucky I'm no giant or my legs wouldn't fit under!

The off- centre wheel is there for good reason! Looks good, I've a Momo Race 3000 on mine, horn button is now flush! -

not today but tomorrow its being rolling roaded at frostmotorsport ipswich let see how many horses have escaped the stable in 21 years fingers crossed not many :)

I have always used the fabric strap type that has a 1/2" ratchet drive on it-this will fit virtually any dia filter & allows you to tighten up the filter avoiding the adjacent pipe. The trouble with the screwdriver method is that if you then find that the new filter won't screw on(it might be faulty say & not become apparent until too late),you can't refit the old filter.

had my s2 rolling roaded and was very happy with reults 191.9 bhp 194lb toqures not bad i thought for a 21 years and 140k of driving does this sound about right to other s2 owners

Dismantled the rear light assembly and had a go at the turn indicator socket with sandpaper. Found various bits of foam padding that were soaking wet. The car's gone all weekend without blowing fuse 33 which sets a new record for longevity. Recently it's been going through fuses faster than i can replace them. Fingers crossed it's sorted the problem.

Had new front wheel bearing fitted to cure rumble, but left with a real rotational squeak that i cant trace, was there before the garage replace bearing but faint, now its loud and unbearable. Back to the garage in the morning[8|] Got much better lights changed bulbs at weekend for some of these 120% brighter ones from Halfords still 55 watt showe that the lights were pointing low so had garage re set them and wow dip beam actually gives you light. Still thinking of a lamp pod with a quad of lights [:D] biggest surprise was local motor factor had rear wheel bearing on shelf if required, used in 911 boxter 944 and some BMW 5 and 7's

I ordered up this kind of Fliter remover: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/260881100712?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649 and it worked a treat! There is a bit of paint missing from the seal-face and the rubber seal is slightly dipped next to it, so either the filter was dented in transit, got over-tightened or had something stuck in it. I cleaned it up and re-tightened it, warmed the car up and then tightened it again. I cleaned up the surfaces below and was able to see where it was still seeping out so (hopefully at a slower rate than before) so will order up a new filter and swap it out next weekend.
