what did you do to your 944 today

ORIGINAL: zcacogp While re-installing it, I removed the bit of trim behind the sunroof as I noticed the vinyl is peeling off it again. I removed this and re-glued it a few months back, and the glue hasn't held.
I've got exactly the same problem with mine. It was only a problem after I drove to Silverstone and back with the roof out! It's on my list of 'niggles' to sort out.

Simon, Yes, I think they do take a bit of a battering when the roof is out. And I drive with the roof out of mine a LOT. Although, interestingly, it's the edge that faces onto the tailgate that is really suffering on mine - not the face that abuts the sunroof. Oli.

Snap I have tried carpet adhesive and that did not work so next time im trying Gorilla glue however it is quite a way down the list of things to do.

Had exactly the same when I owned my S2. I used Copydex and that seemed to work ok, it didn't come unstuck again. That said, I only owned the car a further 2-3 months [:D]

Drove mine out of my garage today, got my skis out of the rafters above and reversed it back in,looking forward to the 4th[:)]

Washed the S2 - it's been used almost frequently recently. Now really needs a deep clean and wax - something added to the list.

Not much today as I had visitors and diy to do but I did manage to use the welding method to remove the stuck bolts on the caliper spring plates. Oh and ordered two new rear tyres!

Struggled like hell to fit new handbrake shoes, then went to fit new rear discs only to find that the supplier had sent the wrong ones, doh!

Today I went for a ballad in the turbo for a good 100 miles. Under the sun. I loved it. It still thrills me how good this car drives on the motorway... [:)]

Took the steering wheel off and straightened it up after it was a bit off after changing the steering UJ. Then had to take it for a B-road blast for an hour to check it was ok!

I did the hatch reseal ....well part of it anyway..... I got the glass out of the frame this is the second time I've done this but because of sratches on my current hatch I brought another .... I followed the instructions on the technical pages of this forum...HOWEVER I purchased windscreen removal wire for £8.99.....best £8.99 I've ever spent got the glass out in 1hr.......last time used the scraper method took me 5 hrs ...and this screen was sealed better, tied one end to the side fixing holes in the tailage...then pulled the other end through the sealant[:D] it's off for powdercoat this week Anyone ever removed the hinge pins from a tailgate hinge?? if so tell me how[:(]

Lovely sunny day, 135 miles around the Essex countryside, only saw 1 classic pork out today a white 911' where do all the 944s hide on these days? Cleaned her up nice and shiny ready for OPC next Saturday

Fixed the loose door handle on the passenger door of the 944. I also re-sealed the outlet of the intercooler on the Rover and cleaned the EGR valve. My smoky diesel isn't smoky any more[:D]
