what did you do to your 944 today

Fitted a replacement throttle position sensor - recently I have been experiencing a jerkiness on deceleration while acceleration and idling have been fine. A trawl of the forums pointed to the TPS. It was clicking on closing and opening the throttle, but a check with a multimeter showed that the switch wasn't working. Luckily got one on Ebay for £10 (£80+ new!). MOT today - fingers crossed.

Collected her from OPC tonight after having the following done: Belts & rollers Oil and filter change New Dizzy, rotor arm, leads and plugs Upper & lower balance shaft oil seals replaced General health check - with only advisory of next visit front wheel bearings require adjusting Now have thin wallet! But all ready for Rutland..[;)]

Did she run extra smooth on the way home?? I sometimes think cars appreciate a fettle, and like to show you it's worth the effort and £££ Or I could just be imagining it[:D]

Mark, you know it The old dizzy and rotor were shot, I noticed it was soooooooooo smooth pulling away from a standstill and the tick over is better

Brill!!!! these cars are very ignition component sensitive,I used to change the spark plugs on my old 944 race car silly often and was convinced I could feel it when they were changed for fresh ones, rotor arm and dizzy cap aswell.. Is your local OPC friendly to older cars like the awsome chaps at Leicester then???

They are yes, one of the guys did his time on 44's I am lead to believe, there is a different pricing structure for older cars, discount applied to all parts and consumables and the bit I likemost my 3-4k car is treated like a 30-40k car They won't even wash it in case they scratch her, they wipe any fingerprints off, clean the glass and hoover the interior, some treatment that.

They sound brilliant,I love the spanking workshop at a Porsche centre, the car always feels safe there, also there is a feeling it's gone home if you know what I mean, they check it for recalls and pukka parts get fitted with 2 year warranty,it gets treated like the thoroughbred classic that it is[:)],I think they like working on something a bit different aswell, good to hear you had a good experience.[:)]

Also alot of people fprget that Porsche centre labour prices can be a good bit lower than you might think.Always good to ask for a quote rather than just going straight to an indie.

Mark, I'll have to make sure my S2 never meets any of your cars in case they get talking; my car's idea of a service bay is the parking spot outside the house, it's nothing at all like Neckarsulm or Zuffenhausen, and I fit whatever parts happen to be best value. Spanking workshop it isn't. (However it is cheap!) Oli.

This is my workshop - when the old 2.5 first arrived - there is oil/brake fluid/ anti freeze etc on the floor now!

Today I went to see my car at the bodyshop where she is now 99.9% finished. The only thing still to do is fit the Porsche decal across the back and the stoneguard stickers around the rear wheel arch. I really hope they arrive tomorrow so I can take her completed to Rutland on Sunday [:D]

Paul, is the car that someone managed to run in to ? pleased to see that you have had a satisfactoey result fom the insurers if it is[;)]

A customer let me loose on his 944 while he was away in Afghanistan. Today the interior panels arrived after being flocked Thought you might like a look Thinking of providing a service to do this for customers cars as the cost is almost the same for the interior as it would be to change a square dash cracked dash.
