What did you do with your 996 today?

You'll find it a very useful tool on a 996. Bear in mind it is 20 year old computing technology though. It runs on Windows for Workgroups 3.11! A lot of KTS500's are turned into PST2s, as they aren't much good for anything else. It is a nice system to use though, and although the processor is slow by modern standards, the software has very small demands, so they run very nicely.

Back from OPC Leicester today after having 2 new keys/fobs and everything reprogrammed, very reasonable cost and can now lock the car [:D]

Well a successful day so far. Delayed a week due to Big Blue having a knackered battery but a bit of car swapping action after the purchase of a new Bosch S5.

Well today/tonight I think i managed to find and fix my aircon pipe leak and I ordered a new resistor to sort my drivers side rad fan at a grand total of £2.60. I done the same on my Boxster previously and its a heck of a lot less than the £70 per side to buy the OEM resistor !

Need to get mine replaced. How much did they cost, if you don't mind me asking?
They were £285 including the reprogramming for both, took about 40 mins and got a free full health check as well

Light detail of paintwork to remove sap from last trip out and before Silverstone Classic on Friday. Also, re-sprayed hood and engine bay release handles on drivers side - looking much tidier now. Waiting for lacquer to cure, job done.

rads gone... had to replace both - nasty shock on price! Took the opportunity to pop a gill behind the bumper to stop stone chips damaging the new ones

Had to remove the modified Dansk Sport silencers as the left hand unit has developed a rattle. Back on with the originals, gave the heat sheilds, bumper and rear end a good clean whilst it was all apart. Now to see if the Dansk box can be opened up and repaired, never thought it was loud but it is so, so quiet with the originals back in place .

I had to send my Dansk mufflers back and get a new pair sent out as my left one also started rattling !! The company that I bought them from were very good although I'm still waiting to claim back the cost for replacing the faulty ones with.new ones from Dansk , but I do like the sound of them.

Thanks but unfortunately I can't send mine back as a couple of months after fitting them and deciding it wasn't really any louder I took them off and did this.

Gundo Hack, did the trick noise wise, sounds great. Not too loud at tick over, just right with a purposeful bass at low revs and part throttle, then a proper scream when you floor it. And thankfully all achieved without any annoying drone on the motorway.

But of course at the cost of any sort of warranty or comeback on Dansk for this later issue with the Baffle.

I will be cutting it open later this week, expecting to find the tack welds to the baffle plate on the exit trumpet to have cracked. Hopefully we can retack these and weld the box back up and have it back on the car soon.
