Young man's first Porsche aka project 951

Removing blue anodized with citric acid was way too slow. It removed color a bit, but i didn't want to spend too much time on this

So i changed to little bit heavier acid....

Both links are to my friends store. 9products link is more for the parts he fabricates himself. Another one is more for the Finnish domestic market, containing also spare parts for Porsche's

ORIGINAL: TTM Nice. I know it's easier said than done, but it would be nice to have a modular design where the plenum would be swappable with different intake flanges - different plenum volumes for different intake flanges (8V/16V intake ports). I have a CF intake from Jonas Larsson, I have had the flange reworked but I still don't like how it looks. Would you be interested to have a close look at it? I need a proper rework of the intake flange to fit my 2.7 head.
Agreed on the need for a decent aftermarket intake for our cars. Seems to be too many questions on the ones that are out there. Always great reading your threads Olli. [:)] Oh, also...I can't quite remember why. Might have to go back over some old emails, but interchanging ABS units from other more recent Porsche cars isn't just a matter of swapping over or putting in the unit and hardware itself. I wish I could recall as I did look into this some time ago. Possibly to do with the fact that for example a unit out of a Boxter or 996 has been programmed around a car with very different weight distribution than ours? There are a couple of people worth talking to on this matter if you want to pursue it. If you could make it work it would be great as there is not a lot of choice and what's out there is very expensive to buy and set up. Read Bosch Motorsports units. There was talk about a BMW unit that might work as well. In any case, best of luck as usual. :)

We started to remove the very last things from car's bottom. Since we are going to install ABS system, old non ABS brake lining was removed like fuel lines as well. We already have a replacement ABS lining . One reson to remove everything is to have better possibility to make a proper wash up. Now it's just too dirty. Son also removed turbo side skirts which are not needed anyway, since they will be replaced by Strosek style units. We must have car rolling again on January since it will be painted then. At the first we planned not to paint it, but since we are re-conditioning everything else, we decided to have a new paint on it. A friend of our who painted the engine room promised to paint it. He also bought a cheap LVLP type of paint gun (i suppose it's a Sata clone). We are more or less ready to paint the project's bottom. We are also starting soon to prepare the body for complete overspray, which will be done by a friend of ours. Diamant blau (Diamond Blue) is a nice color.Upper picture is taken without the flash lower picture with flash

We removed the fuel tank. It will be easier to clean the undergarriage when it is removed. Also easier to wash the tank.

When I did the back end of mine I dropped the tank and removed the rear suspension. But putting the tank back in was a nightmare.I did it with the car on stands on the floor, and you need 3 knees and 4 hands to get the tank back in.I remember lying on the floor swearing alot. Good luck keep up the good work and enjoy..... P.s. more photo's please
