So with Ruf delivering an RT12 to a UK customer, which has a top speed of 219 mph... not forgetting some of the UK 9ff creations, there are quite a few 200mph+ Porsche's out there

Hi :)

Well assuming I do manage over 200 and im hoping for around 208 to beat the Carrera Gt...at least "I" will have a timing ticket...with the speed on it....

A lot of people (particularly tuners)....say....there car will do a certain speed...lol

I will happily remove the "fastest Porsche in the Uk" from my sig...

IF THEY CAN PROVE THEIRS IS FASTER.... :)

Besides which .....mine is a 21 year old 928......it says something about 928s that its even possible with one...and even all the modern electronic supercars will have to work hard to beat me...

All the best Brett :)

Besides the original Ruf Yellowbird knocked out 211 mph back in 1987, with a few exact examples in the UK capable of those speeds for the past 20 years...

Hi :)

I agree its not an impossible task...but at what cost... £50,000 ...£100,000 for a modern car....mine is less than 10k even with the new system...and including the car...

All the best Brett :)

Brett,
The main reason those cars are so expensive is that a RUF is built from scratch with the sole intention of being capable of speeds of 200+
I don't feel the same can be said for your 928 and therefore I question both the safety and likely success of your project[8|][8|]
However good luck[;)][;)]

Back of plate...with fuse box and one of the relays (fused)...

Wouldn't a modular component box have been slightly less unsightly?

The connections all look very nicely made but the plate its self looks such a shambles; or is this part of the Back to The Future Delorian style you are trying to create?

I also agree that the "Fastest Porsche in the UK" tag is rather presumptuous.

"Fastest Porsche 928 in the UK" will probably be very accurate and much less open to question.

Brett, this would make a fascinating article for PP, has Chris Clark mentioned it to you? Make a change from reading the article about driving technique that gets printed every few months.[:)]

Whatever happens, best of luck Brett, hope you and the car stick together (but not in one lump though if you get my meaning) I was going to say 'get my drift' but thought it didn't sound right.

Hi John :)

Yes but at least my 200 will only be in a straight line :)

Which is much easier to do lol :)

I wouldnt even consider trying to design and build it to go round corners that fast.....unless I won the lottery of course....trouble is....even if I did , I doubt it would look much like a 928 at the end of it :)

All the best Brett :)

Hi Fred :)

David Hemmings did ask me to write an article....which I intend to do.....but thought it would be better after the success or otherwise of my attempt ..lol :)

I am keeping a rough outline and pictures of everything I am doing...

Regarding the speed claim....Fastest 928....pretty certain...Fastest Porsche...possible :)

All the best Brett :)
