Picture 4...RED.....SPRV valves (Safe Pressure Relief Valve)

If pressure goes too high due to overheating or sun on bottles....allows pressure to bleed off little by little...(a gentle hiss)..perfectly safe...

All the best Brett :)

In the first instance I was convinced that Brett was a nut case. As this thread develops, while obviously eccentric, I have to concede he may not actually be certifiable. On occasions he even seems to know what he is talking about. (Note the rider in the last sentence). [;)]

However, I do agree with a previous comment that his insurers should be notified of the nitrous installation. Should an accident happen they would otherwise achieve a backward step far faster than Brett's car will ever attain. Even if the Nitrous system was totally inoperable they will still claim it was an undisclosed a modification and not pay up.

The Fastest Porsche in the UK? The inverted snob in me would love to see it, but I don't think it will happen.

While the car may well have enough power it certainly won't have enough traction and, as a result, will run out of space before terminal velocity can be achieved. [:(]

Ignoring all of the above (except the insurance bit) please keep going Brett. I love an eccentric, it makes me proud to be British.

Does this mean that if I were to have a crash and I was to make sure I was off boost at the time of impact would I get away with not telling the insurance company my car is a turbo? Sorry Bret, don't mean to be pedantic!

Anyway, I know i'm on tenderhooks so when do you think you'll be ready for some trial runs?

Hi :)

Hi Peanut :)

The Devon drag racing is here >>> http://www.streetnights.com/

Its almost in Somerset...so fairly close to you I imagine...

There will be some interesting cars coming including "Redvictor" fastest steet car in the Uk,,,,,and Keith Cowie...a VERY fast track car...and little old me of course :)

It will be great to see you there :) Or any other Pcgb members from the South or west :)

All the best Brett :)

Hi All :)

Addition to previous post...

In DEVON.....

I will be running part of my race system ....and part of the road system...so only just over 500 hp ...

When the race system is finished it will be around 800 to 850 hp...

These 1/8 th runs will allow me to set up and program my race controller for launches...

Fastest 928 in the world I can find is a low 8.. as below, you might
recognise the
third fastest
smile.gif

Times and speeds on the 1/8 mile...

1.Supercharged 928...8.37 seconds @ 86.69 mph (Imre.t) (USA)

2.Turbocharged 928...8.60 seconds @ 89.00 mph (Mark Robinson) (USA)

3.Supercharged 928...8.88 seconds @ 88.70 mph (Adrian Clark) (UK)

I will be running part old Nitrous system and part new one
smile.gif

150 hp(old) jetting with twin 14 lb bottles(new) and Maxx Race
controller(new)...and Twin bottle heaters (new)...

Expected times.....hmm...well an 8 would be nice but may only be a 9
as I need the programming time on the controller...best I could hope
for is a 7... but I really doubt that until the rest of the 500hp
system is installed...

But we will see

I think he is right about the insurance.

Bret has modified his car, even if its not active on the road the insurance company is likely to get cold feet. Remember when you insure your car, you are asked to disclose any modifications at al, if you don't your insurance is likely to be invalid.

They look at risk. To manage risk they require information about the car which is usually based on standard specs. Brets car could not be called standard (fantastic might be a better description !), and if its declared as standard they can say you have withheld information affecting that risk and so decline to pay out.

Its an individual decision, but if you have not disclosed your mods, you would probably not be covered if you had an accident.

Wow, just read this thread from start to finish. I have this picture in my head of you doing 208mph, off your tits on the overflow laughing gas which is filling your cabin.

Good luck, whe world needs nutters like you!

Hi :)

Honest answer is I am not sure....with current noise limits it doesnt look like I will be able to prove my top speed in this country ,this year...

Only way I can think is a trip to Germany and a derestricted Autobahn and a Video camera...pointing at my Satnav....

With my 500 hp Nitrous Race system and slightly bigger rear tyres on my 18 x 10 rears...with the diff I have ...The car is "in theory" capable of 235 mph.....in actual real life...I think 208 to 210 is much more likely :)

I realise that is in theory but I have easily outdragged a GT3 from around 100 to over 160....(then I shut down the Nitrous although it was still accelerating drastically fast)....I was walking away from him....it even impressed me lol :)...on a private track of course :)

All the best Brett :)

Brett, having been present at 10/12 Vmax events...I will be truly astonished if you reach more than say 188mph with 500bhp in the space provided......I hope you prove me very wrong....... the only thing is, I know the practicalities and limitations of the Vmax set up and dare I say it, the correlation with what might be achieved on an autobahn is a number less than 1 [;)]
