200 MPH TOP SPEED RUNS (VMAX)

Have you got a planned date for this attempt Brett?

Oh & I love your assertion that because you're not using the nitrous on the road, you don't have to declare it to your insurers! Please don't have an accident and put that to the test[:D]

Anyway, very entertaining reading, good luck

Hi All :)

More pictures...Twin 14 lb Nitrous bottles been polished to give me 28lbs of Nitrous for my runs so no or little pressure drop from 950 psi....

Good luck Brett. But your intended claim to fame as the "fastest Porsche in the UK" are already thwarted... There are quite a few modified Porsches in the UK which already go faster than a CGT. Mostly of the modified TT/GT2 variety which run on normal Shell V-Power without the need for nitrous, parachutes, etc.

Hi :)

Ah well...we will see...IF I get a ticket saying 208 mph....I will add "Fastest Porsche in the UK" to my signature ...UNTIL I actually SEE a timing ticket that disproves my claim...

Lots of people ..SAY...their car will do a speed but proving it is different...

Of course ..I may never reach 208 anyway lol :)

All the best Brett :)

Brett, if the Club experts say you can't do it then I'd give up now.

You have to listen to them. It's not as if your professional background from Formula 1 to Dragsters can compete with the wealth of knowledge of some forum posters.

Hi :)

I know....its obviously beyond my capabilities...the fact I used to build and run 6000 hp engines and cars has unhinged me I think :)

Still you never know...maybe by some fluke I might just manage it...then once I have MY Timing ticket posted here....we will see how many of those fast Porsches can actually PROVE they are faster :)

And IF they can....there is always a Supercharger + Nitrous...and I know a LOT about blowers :)

Ah well...we will see .........

All the best Brett :)

Regarding articles it seems to me that a commercial magazine would be rather more appropriate.

The Club as you can see from some of the posts does contain quite a lot of Walter characters (as appearing in Dennis the Menace). I think it's irresponsible the way you have been frightening some of them.

However if they do read this perhaps they could be reassured that aside from your professional experience you do have military training where danger is faced with discipline and planning.

Hi :)

Actually my military training taught me to run away given the chance lol...you live longer that way...

My favourite saying from when I was a soldier was......

There are OLD soldiers.....
There are BOLD soldiers....
But there are no OLD,BOLD soldiers ....:)

Kept me alive a time or two, that did :)

All the best Brett :)

See, no-one should be too concerned.

You'll pull back at the first sign of the bonnet flying off!

Hi :)

Sorry you need a better reason lol...I will have bonnet pins fitted by then....:)

All the best Brett :)

B***y hell what a thread!! not sure if i think this is mad or normal un hinged Porsche fan [:D]

Hi :)

Well all Porsche owners like their cars to go fast, I just like to go a little faster than others....lol

Plus I am nuts of course :)

But at least I am a Porsche nut :)

All the best Brett :)

Hi All :)

Hi :)

Now I have the brackets, I filled both 14 lb bottles (from my 82 lb huge filling bottle) and will be mounting the new twin bottle system in the next couple of days...

Pictures will follow as soon as mounted in....

All the best Brett :)

I'm curious - what is the adustable angle for the bottles for? I see it's caliberated (ish!) so there has to be a reason?

Hi Mark :)

Ok the bottles come in 2 types...

1,WITH dip tube...(road cars)

2,WITHOUT dip tube...(race cars -bottle used upside down)

Mine are type 1...WITH diptube....which is basically a tube that runs from the valve downwards to the bottom of the bottle....
Now....when I am USING Nitrous.....I ideally need LIQUID Nitrous ...NOT gaseous Nitrous...so if the bottles are angled downwards at the rear and upwards at the front (20 degrees in my case, then when the bottles get low....I am still pulling LIQUID Nitrous and not gas.....

Also inertia helps...as my bottles face directly forwards with valves facing towards rear of passenger seat....so when I launch on Nitrous the LIQUID...is thrown to rear of bottle etc....

The various adjustable angles are to suit other positions of bottles (such as transverse mounted - not ideal)

Hope this helps....

All the best Brett :)
