964 Trackday 2011 (group booking) GREAT day out!

Guys, I would stop worrying about the static test. The Donny driveby is very generous...if you fail that you WILL fail the static test because their limit of 100 db doesn't stack up. A 98 db driveby is roughly equivalent to a 105 db static. BTW there's a meter on the gantry on the pit straight, so keep to the right side of the track away from the pit wall (you'll be noisier next to the pit wall because of the sound bouncing back off the wall). Now let's have some more of you booking this day [:)]

My 2.4E is 105db static and on the many times it has been round Donington has never failed to be ok on the 98db drive by. Congratulations Steve on organising this. Great circuit, great time of year, great price. Ian.

ORIGINAL: Steve Brookes Thanks Ian. Hopefully you'll come and join us on track or at worst stop by and see us on the day [:)]
I would be signed up by now if I hadn't committed to a Magnificent Sevens race at Cadwell Park the same day. Donnigton has always been one of my favourite tracks. Mind you me and my friend have to get that far through the season without wrecking the car which could be a challenge as he has never done it before and I haven't done it for five years nor ever driven a Westfield [:)]. So I might well be seeing you ... I've texted the guy who bought my old 964 about it and he is local too so hopefully he will come along. Ian.

Ian, I see that the sevens are racing at Donington at the end of May and Oulton at the beginning of October. Hopefully I'll get along to those meets to cheer you on [:)]

Good to hear chaps and it looks Ian will be the one to try and keep up with because he's got 20 more horses than the rest us [;)]

Steve - I would need more than 20 extra horses to get me round quicker than others :) Not an exact science, but previous owner reckons it is around 270bhp - based on his track days experience with other cars that were known to have that bhp. Car has cup bypass / exhaust, K&N and a Steve Wong Chip. I have to get the car there, round, back and then to work during the week so I don't thrash it too much. Just enjoying the freedom of the track overall. I hope to get along to the RS Day in March at Oulton as a spectator / passenger as well. Ian

I was only joking about the extra horses Ian. [;)] The rest of us have put down the factory spec of 250 bhp on the BaT website. Personally, I don't know what mine is. Nick Appleton had his old 964 dynoed after his rebuild. Apart from a de-cat his engine was standard but produced 290 bhp on the dyno. So they all vary a bit in reality.

Hi Steve Thanks for letting me know. I've just booked in the Alzen RS. By the way, the car is now correctly badged as an Alzen RS, rather than RSR! All the best Karl

Great stuff Karl. It'll be good to see the yellow beast again [:)]. And don't forget that there will be loads of us at the RS days at Oulton Park on 4th and 5th March [:)]
