Just before I pull the trigger on this, whats the deal if I am too loud? I'm guessing I get sent home with no lunch - are these guys the one you can buy "too loud insurance" from? Haven't tracked my car before. Its a 964T with B&B headers, a G pipe, and I think it might also be de-cat'd cos its bloody loud. Can I get tested anywhere before I book? Would my MOT station or my Indy have a sound meter thingy?

No Bookatrack don't do the too loud insurance (that's Easytrack). As mentioned earlier the noise is tested by driveby which is 98 db. This is equivalent to 105 db static. If you go along to a local track holding a track day they will usually test your car for free (you don't have to be booked on to the track day to get a noise test). If you fail the driveby at Donington they'll give you a chance to modify your exhaust to make it quieter. However, since you'll then have to pass a static test at 100 db there's little chance that they'll let you back on because as said above, failing a 98 db driveby means your car is at least 105 db. Those of us who want to go on track make sure our exhausts are below the noise limit. If you don't think your car will pass then my advice is don't book on. Alternatively have a hunt around for some bolt mufflers that can be attached to the end of the exhaust just for the day. Something like this might do it but I'm not sure if it will fit a turbo: http://www.design911.co.uk/fu/prod1796/Exhaust-Tail-Pipes-Scart-Porsche-964-C2--C4/

Steve Your numberrs have increased by 1. Fantastic effort to organise this - and help us northerners to enjoy what PCGB offers more frequently to the Southern softies. I enjoyed seeing my wet weather efforts at Oulton on your posted video - maybe I'll track you down at Donnington for some movie making tips. Jon

This is another device slightly cheaper. I had an old tail pipe which got chopped and welded to fit the Suppertrap (cost Ă‚ÂŁ10) http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/Motorsport/Brands/Supertrapp/Supertrapp_Exhausts/Supertrapp_Universal_Exhaust_Silencers/Supertrapp_Disc_Only_Clamp_On_Silencers/1884/656/5905No Bookatrack don't do the too loud insurance (that's Easytrack). On the booking web site it mentions that crash helmets must be worn by driver and passengers, so today I just happened to be at a motorcycle dealers on buisness so I thought this was a good opportunity to look at a few. While in conversation with the dealer, he asked what type of bike I rode. So I explained what I actually wanted it for, he then went on to say that you need a car crash helmet not a bike one . Do they stipulate or are they flexible ?. Do the track hire them ?. Do any other tracks require helmets to be worn ?. Steve

A motorcycle helmet is fine. A pukka car crash helmet is only required if you go racing. Your crash helmet will be inspected if you go racing but not on a track day. Yes, all trackdays require helmets and yes you can hire them on the day if you don't want to buy your own.

Would have loved to have been there, but clashes with F1 at Silverstone and already have tickets. Please do more of these, especially North of Warford Gap. Apologies for not being able to support this event, but will be there next time.[]
