Are Spyders Becoming Extinct At OPCs!

I was just speculating a wheel colour change in the eye of a purchaser not inferring they were curbed.ORIGINAL: daro911The wheels were factory perfect and the badge can be had for about £25.00[ORIGINAL: Nick_USA Maybe £500 is a wheel re-spray and replacing the Boxster badge []

I realised that but I am sure if the spokes were gloss blacked and the rim edge and inners were left silver that wheel could look quite special on the Spyder after all Or if you prefer a matt finish too[ORIGINAL: Nick_USAI was just speculating a wheel colour change in the eye of a purchaser not inferring they were curbed.ORIGINAL: daro911The wheels were factory perfect and the badge can be had for about £25.00[ORIGINAL: Nick_USA Maybe £500 is a wheel re-spray and replacing the Boxster badge []

A very fussy friend had his wheels sorted via Excel and he said the workmanship and end result is exactly what they claim and far better than factory finish I believe a few Spydermen on here have had the same experiences tooORIGINAL: Nick_USA Someone on here? Correct but then you have to leave the car at Lepsons for several days etc and this service is done at your home and you are still mobile whilst your wheels are away I think the cost for this is worthwhile especially if you live a long way from Lepsons and if your car is your daily driver tooORIGINAL: MrDemon Excel sub the work out to Lepsons. What excel offer is a one stop shop and a set of wheels while yours are away. But you pay for the service of course as that's the business. If you just want the finish at the cheapest cost just goto Lepsons direct.

I would bet those 5 spokes are a lot easier to clean also
Or that the old rules apply to Spyders too. Provenance, mileage and condition are king. Probably in that order. Everything else is, frankly, irrelevant. You won't see anyone shying away from a 964RS because it's the wrong colour...daro911 My previous Spyder (the 911V car) which I sold with wrong wheels, wrong seats, and too many fat boy extras seems to have been the first of the 4 available at the time to go more proof that when it comes to Spyders the most popular spec to have is yet to be finalised![]()
ORIGINAL: MrDemon I would not buy the pink ones with pink seats. Ruby stone my arse.

My favourite. [
] I like maritime (?) blue too. Not so sure of the mint green but it does suit it.

A couple of flavours of Fuchs have been seen on our cars.ORIGINAL: Giff Can you buy Fuchs rep wheels for a Cayman?

Indeed. There are some crucial weight saving points on the car. One being the roof, lowering the centre of gravity by losing weight up top, another being the reduced rotating/unsprung masses. The third being a collection of other things that saved even more significant weight, so much so that Porsche could lower the tyre pressures to give a car that rides well without being crashy. I'll happily put back the radio in the middle but i'll not put the 5kg back on the wheels. [With the aluminium doors saving us 15kg, i'm surprised they didn't also use them on the Carrera GTS. They gave us a lot in the Spyder R package.]ORIGINAL: Rocket Man But is it just the look or is it the physics. I coppied this article from PH
That's the truth.ORIGINAL: MrDemon The Spyder wheel have more aggressive offsets so gives you a wider track hence handle better they are also wider. THe sport wheel is the only other wider wheel and is the best non Spyder wheel imo. in the future the car will be best value with Spyder wheels. So yes no right and wrong I guess, best performance on the car will be the Spyder wheel and best resale in 10 years time will be Spyder wheel cars, there is no getting away from that just because that's the spec Porsche intended for the car. I would also say even now there are more buyers out there looking for cars with Spyder wheels, so it just gives you a bigger market to sell to now if you car has them. People on here now looking for Cayman R and Spyders, wheels seems a big buying issue if not on Spyder wheels.
