Building a 400bhp+ 2.5 ltr 944 Turbo

Is that 14.7 at idle?

Nice to see a modified car that doesn't run rich at idle.

I was pleased with 14.2.
Yes sir that's idle although to be fair it tends to move a little when warming up..say 14.5 to 14.8...I just got lucky with taking the picture...🤣🤣

Oh...I should add that when first fired up and the sensor has finnished warming up it will show around 11 or low 12's until the engine has reached temp which only takes a minute or two.

Heat soak makes it tricky to keep at stoic in my experience.
My sensor is a lot further back than most which may help balance things out better?

Yeah, I moved mine to the intercooler for that reason. Mine starts at around 12 and moves very quickly to 14ish. Which is good enough for decent emissions.

Intercooler?

Inlet air sensor. Mounted in the inlet manifold the sensor gets heat soaked at idle and the ECU attempts to compensate. It's better (on mine)mounted towards the intercooler. I guess you mean the exhaust gas sensor. Unless you have an exhaust leak, shouldn't matter too much how far down the pipe it is.

Never got around to fitting one Paul...it was considered along with othet bits like a mechanical oil pressure gauge and exhaust temp....might be others which I forget. Not much more has been added to the car for 2 years now..last things being race fuel lines, 82lb injectors and all new belts etc...my son did all those for my 60th 2 years ago.

"Never got around to fitting one Paul"

It'll have one in the AFM (although it's years since I've seen one), assuming it still has an AFM. Mine doesn't have an AFM, hence the re-location of the sensor.

No AFM either...in fact you've just joggled a memory...might be my son said a seperate sensor wasn't needed with my VMAF+ setup using a 3bar map sensor...afraid I can't recall things well these days...he may be over tomorrow, if so I'll try to remember to ask him.

Huge amounts of cutting edge tech from the 90’s. None of which communicates with one another.

Literally the reason why I went standalone and verified it on a dyno.

My most recent dyno result was 403 ft/lbs of torque at 2752rpm and a max of 336.1bhp on a 2.5l and a K26/8 turbo optimised for early spool and torque.

If you like I’ll stop at the first junction I come to and count to ten while your turbo finally spools up?

I do sometimes wonder if it's just banter, or if you're actually serious...
