just that date lol. but def 3.8 380bhp or ps , price will know very soon, tyres has to be CUP2's def the cars a manual (might be a PDK option but seems no sign of that) numbers seem to be changing !!! maybe less cars than 1st told. and that's when opc were told last month of 200 cars, it now may be less. what we don't know is CS pack, adjustable sus arms and all the finer details. but 27 days to go for that lot.

Anyone have reasonable German language skills? Reference to price? See Post #926. http://www.pff.de/porsche/board104-porsche-modelle/board138-porsche-cayman/porsche-cayman-981/2747223-cayman-gt4/index133.html

Hi, What he is saying is this... The Cayman GT4 is now configurable on the Porsche site, by the dealers, all without pictures, only option lists and prices, all the different options are listed, but what was missing is the cars BASIC PRICE. At the moment the car is only available as a "Manual"/3.8 ltr and 380 PS, sports seats plus and 20 inch GT4 wheels, but no tyre sizes... Cheers Charlie

Charlie, Many thanks. It was mainly the who/which configurator I/Google had trouble with so I guess we all call our friendly salesmen and see what further we can find out. Ralph

Call Mr Demon on here as he seems to have been right about manual only, 380/3.8l [;)] In the meantime this is worth another read [:D][:D] http://flatsixes.com/cars/porsche-cayman/cayman-gt4-isnt-going-happen-really/

I note that this was published in August 2014 Rob, so it's been superceded by other information including the fact that the GT4 moniker is out of the bag [ http://www.planet-9.com/gallery/files/3/caymangt4confirmed_original.jpg ]. How wrong can the author have been on most counts? No-one here was expecting a 400PS GT4, a 3.8L 380PS motor being my best-guess when I started this post. The article also doesn't take into account that the 991.2 is rumoured to be turbocharged and so will receive a [20PS?] power hike to maintain some sort of power balance between the 981 and the 991. Jeff

there is no price yet. The bad news is the Press release might not have the full specs on the car, it's just a 4th Feb press release that the cars real. Porsche UK will still NOT take a deposit on a GT4.

Back on to some more tangible things: With the lowered suspension, is there sufficient room in the wheel arches to cater for wider rims, maybe with wheel spacers? Clearly there's something hiding behind front centre mesh grille. As with the GT3 it's most probably a coolant rad venting through the bonnet slot but on the RUF 3800S apparently an additional oil cooler is positioned behind the grille. Jeff

According to posters sources on piston heads it's carrying a Gts +30E k. Price tag!!and that's in Germany so uk price will be about £85k plus options!

Jeff, I can confirm RuF fit an oil cooler behind their special front end although I don't know what it feeds and ultimately cools. Price 'concern' is from a number of posts on Pff. I have spoken with 3 OPCs this morning (Porsche Retail, Sytner and independent) and none can see a GT4 on their dealer systems and all are very surprised at manual only, fearing a lot of prospects will not take it up. I think Porsche have learned from 981 GTS info leak debacle, and GT3 under pricing.

You moving the goalposts again mrD ! I see you have gone quiet on the gt4 piston heads forum! So bets are now on full press release info 3 March Geneva or 12 March Chicago
