Nick USA for new Regional Organiser?

Yikes - didn't mean this as an insult - just a fact. Our current RO has simply had to work overseas a lot and has been unavailable to put time into the job. I am not trying to vote anyone out - I am totally fed up with the politics in this club and don't want to get involved. I just can't understand how someone would actually want to stay in a post that they just didn't have time (through no fault of their own) to commit to. If it were me I'd want to hand the task over rather than feel guilty about my lack of presence....

It is no good being RO if you are not able to put any time into the job

Peter's right that the forum isn't the best place to discuss things like this; there is a proper proceedure and you sort of have to stick to it for everyone's benefit.

The first thing to do is talk to the Regional Director about any problems, it's his job to sort out who runs what region and if they need more help. I can't see why you shouldn't have a couple of helpers with a region like London that's quite spread-out and has several monthly events. The Rgional Director should be able to help put a team together from the RO and the obviously willing volunteers here? [:)]

A note has been e mailed to Paul Seagrave , the Regional Director, on the subject of R20's current predicament.
JC

That is probably the best way forward and if you don't ask we won't get.

Kish

You complain about the criticisms being levelled in an open forum; not unreasonable, if those criticisms weren't borne of utter frustration about the impasse that is r20.

You did well in your first year of "office", but that was 5 years ago.

The time for talking or negotiation is over.

Many many ex PCGB members (me included) have not renewed because of the absolute pointlessness of being a member in R20. It's dead. Nothing ever happens. What should be the most vibrant group in the UK needs more than a monthly meet at the ACE or suburban pub.

It's a volunteer role.

It's understandable that conflicts arise between work, family and volunteer committments.

There are others who want to, are supported to, are being willed to pick up the baton.

Remember Gordon Brown's refusal to quit No 10?

Your appointment as a director of PCGB, and other "privelages of office" simply raise levels of frustration and resentment to a higher level.

You've lost the support of members in R20.

Please please do what Brown eventually did.

By all means stay active in R20, in the club, and let others have their turn.

More than happy to talk in person to all if you all want to meet up. Have been open for a chat but none of the break away groups has taken up the offer including the same grouo calling for a regional committee and then none putting their names forward. Nick's wife was the most honest to tell me none of this guys like me and dont want to work with me, so whatever good things and events I do will be futile and dismissed as unacceptable.

Very easy posting on forum but lets do this sensibly and meet in person at one of the regular meet locations or venue of choice but also have representive of the region and not just a tiny breakaway sub-group who want to form a mini-region within a region.

Richmond meet next Wednesday if interested as not seen any of you posting here attend for several years! Yes, it may not be Easy travel for all but then no London in a city like London will be.

You have my number and email address (Porsche File or Porsche Post) why not speak/email rather than start conspiracies on the forum (BTW this area is completely public not just viewable to club members)?

All the best,
Kish

Kish, I recall the last meeting in Richmond between myself in the middle and you and Mr Ong. The upshot of which I stepped down as assistant and Adrien Ong was dismissed as Joint Regional Organiser, to this day I have not heard the official line as why Adrien was dismissed by Chris Clark then Regional Director and Board (Adrien not even present), other than you were uhappy with him, which I could not understand (sure this caused some stress at the time Peter)... You became sole Regional Organiser.

The three of us made a good team, we even won the Region of the Year, events were legendary, all going fabulously well .....

Brilliant....................

Just need a chainsaw and I can relocate it to my garden!

Guys, you were asked to avoid personal insults or potential embarassment coming in on this thread so let's keep it to "this is what we've asked the Board to change", or "this was their reply"?

The last thing I'd want to see is the current Admin team being accused of anything that might undermine the good work we've all done over the last couple of years! [;)]

Maybe a simple election, current RO can stand and shut everyone up, the dissenters are a small splinter group so nothing to fear, simples ...

Paul I really appreciate the hard work you and your colleagues put into this forum, as I started this thread feel free again to edit or remove any posts you see fit, to be honest there has been some creative artwork....[;)]

Maybe if we the 'small splinter group' are given a chance this creativity can be directed into some great events [;)]

Just pre-empting any accusations that the current Admin team have failed to do their job and should be replaced. I guess this is irrelevant as this wouldn't happen, obviously. [&o]

Keep it factual, and any issues should be taken to the Board. Feel free to copy your own communications here unless they are personal, and the same with replies, but let's not forget that often things get resolved better by personal contact than the easier route of internet posts! [8|]

I, for one, have every faith in the current admin team (forum moderators) in the current extremely difficult conditions....

It is just a shame that when we do get a thread going which develops with a bit of banter and humour it is under threat of being extinguished ...

Still there are other places and methods of communication that offer greater freedom of speech and allow the envelope to be expanded.

In the mean time, you continue to enjoy my full support. [;)]
