Nick USA for new Regional Organiser?

ORIGINAL: cherrington

Hi
Don't know your name but you are correct in stating the obvious that there have been no official R20 events on offer apart from the hackneyed repeats for the last three years.
This is the responsibility of the RO who we are seeking to replace and if you have read the thread in full you will be fully up to speed with the current situation.
Not sure where the 'secret ' reference comes from, a group of active and committed members [ mates if you like] have fulfilled a large and comprehensive programme of activities on a personal but certainly not exclusive basis in spite of the inactive regional organisation and have been trying for a while to extend this enthusiasm and experience to the membership in general, hence the distasteful process currently in play.
As soon as a new RO is in place you will see a step change in activities on offer and we will be delighted if you play a part in their execution.
The regions are the engine of the club and rely on everyone to contribute.
JC

Thanks for your response JC. My reference to "secret" was just that I have not been aware of the events that have been referred to. I am not sure how they have been communicated but I wasn't aware of them hence my comment. Would love to initially participate in some of these events with a view to helping out in the future.

I do agree with the RO comment though. I have attended a few Ace Club meets where teh RO was not present. I can understand the odd one due to other commitments but it has been more than one.

Good stuff.
Lets hope for a speedy and dignified conclusion to this nonesense.
Please note that the 'secret seventeen' meet at Fatboys Diner [ see their website] on the third Saturday in each month, and will be there tomorrow at 13.00 hrs, extraordinarily, to sort a few of the current issues. All welcome.
JC

Phew, thought I had lost it but I found it again [8D]

Dear All

I have been sitting on the fence watching the responses and it is deja vu from around a few years ago, when I had just joined the club and much to my disappointment what was shaping up to be a dynamic and vibrant team which London deserved was disbanded among some acrimonious exchanges. Since then I remember a flutter of activities for about a year and thereafter a stale and barren activity curriculum. However what astounds me is the heirarchy within the club seem to me - and this is not an accusation, but a perception, to blindly ignore the discontent within the membership/ potential membership, when they should be actively responding in a positive manner. Talks of a splinter group and any such mention of disatisfaction is rebuked with statements of procedural due process. What is supposed to be friendly informal club, seems to be run with an almost pompous air and police type state attitude. Perhaps what we are witnessing is an uprising - like the Arab spring, but I do not at all suggest that course of action is followed ( may be charged with incitement under current legislation !)[:D]

Have you made the Club "heirarchy" aware of your concerns? Often people are unhappy, but nothing can be done if people aren't aware of problems. In fact the "heirarchy" should work the other way; members are at the top, with the directors doing their bidding. [8|]

There's always the danger that a few people are seen as whinging from the outside, whereas in fact there is often a larger number of unhappy members no-one is aware of. If every concerned member put an official question to the relevant Director something would have to be done, if it was a significant number of active regional members of course.

Dear Paul,

Ok then upon your advice I formally state, regretably, I am not impressed, nor satisfied with the R20 level of activites over the last few years in comparison compared with other regions. This may be for whatever reason and this is not to accuse any individual or fellow members or participants, or personalise the issue, as I have no knowledge nor wish to pass judgement upon any other(s), but only to state what I see (or lack of) in the event calendar.

Please may I ask you to kindly forward this to the relevant director (I have no interest in PC heriarchy - only what is on the R20 event list .)

Kind regards and many thanks,
[:)]
