rear wiper delete

Rain X and 60mph does the trick for me. Who needs a rear wiper. Bloody heavy and useless things. My bung came from JMG

I actually do use the rear wiper and find it useful!

The rear wiper IS useful. But not very useful, and the rattle in it annoys me!

I'm happy to forgo the tiny bit of use it offers in favour of a quieter life (and smoother rear view and lighter weight!)

Oli.

I like mine, as I reverse out of the drive and the car lives outside.

You can put a 26" blade on it and that clears a lot more useful area.

I know that I should know this Mike, but can a normal blade be easily fitted? They always used to be regarded as an OPC part.

Yes - I have a 26" £3 ASDA one currently.

Rain x keeps the screen clear and without wash the wipe isn't much use. Without the motor on the back window the hatch leaps open at the press of the button.

Oh and when you are carrying your spare set of trackday wheels and tyres they fit better without the motor.

Mines still fitted and doesn't rattle but that is maybe because it has done less work in its life as I don't tend to take it out if its raining [:D]

They do look good deleted but unless your going on track and need to save .1 of a second on your lap times why remove an integral part of the car?

I think they must only rattle on a car that's not been looked after, as mine makes no noise [&:]. My car lives in a garage so is normally dry but on the odd occasion that it's out overnight (like staying over at friends) I can't understand why someone would risk reversing their pride and joy when its covered with rain or dew. I hope all those with wiper deletes thoroughly wipe the glass clear before they reverse off a driveway [;)]

Admittedly its clear in seconds at 60mph

Got a pro max bung. £20 heard there £15 at Jmg.

Looks stock, there's a few things you could do cheaper. But £15?

Cork
Rubber bar end from a bike
Stock wiper washers and a nut and bolt

Just buy a bung. 2 bits of Alloy that tread togther with a rubber O ring seal

Removed mine when after I put it on and it missed its stop point and when on 2 hit the rear wheel arch

Reverse in - better to manouvere on a warm gearbox and the window will be clear, then leave forwards [:D]

I was wondering at reversing out at 60mph from cold[:D]

Don't try this, your gearbox will not thank you!

But did you know if you have a turbo you can get the car on boost in reverse, but unfortunately reverse gear is not as well made as 1st or 2nd and you will find you will leave all the teeth off the reverse cog in the bottom of your box.

Don't ask me how I know [&o][&o]

I'm with andy and find my rear wiper very useful. Only annoying thing is that it goes like the clappers and has no intermittent option as new cars seem to. I acquired one of the intermittent timer knobs for the front wipers and plan to fit that into the system at some point so I can set the inter-sweep time as conditions require. It certainly won't be coming out but then it doesn't rattle.

Thats interesting David, I'm sure my switch is spring loaded and only does one sweep per press!

As an aside, I only noticed yesterday that I have 3 speed front wipers plus variable intermittent [8|][8|] I'm not one for over speeding wipers!

Mine sweeps at normal speed, switch down and then finishes on a slow wipe to park when switched off.
Gotta love the old car quirks

Mine is definitely an on/off so its a bit OTT to leave it on.
It has to be a manual intermittent - ie me.
