Register roll call

I bought in Jan a maritime blue 968 race car built to full PCGB spec, so welded shell and cage, its fully on the button ready to go just having its graphics package designed.

I have done four track days in it so far this year in miserable weather and its great, so looking forward to a dry sunny one.

First race is CSCC at Brands in May.

Loving it, simple to run, parts easy to get, so far so good

Just bought a 1992 (J Reg) 968 Coupe Tip in Midnight Blue with 131k miles and a comprehensive service history.

Has a few small gremlins and needs a couple of small jobs done but mechanically it is spot on and has had £2500 spent on it in the last 16 months by the previous owner.

Will add some pics soon

Collected this 72k miles 1993 ClubSport recently. First impressions quite favourable, and will be even better once I stop trying to put luggage in the engine compartment.

The plan is to get along to some of the club track days so I am just waiting for the dates for 2014 to be published.

In the meantime the obligatory photo

Hi Nick,

Looks great! There's a Bedford trackday in june, not a Club one but aimed at the transaxle cars. Details about it on the 968 forum.

Paul

Many thanks for the heads up on Bedford. In the past I have restricted myself to PCGB track days on basis that I'm less likely to be punted off the circuit by the local hotshot in a rusty Astra. Steve Kevlin runs a pretty tight ship and with plenty of expensive machinery on show the proceedings are orderly and respectful. Nevertheless I'll look into the Bedford transaxle day and may see you there.

On another 968 matter, I have tried unsuccessfully to join 968UK but never get a response to my application from the server which usually times out. There seems to be plenty of useful information on that site and it would be good to get access. Do you happen to know if there is there another way of making contact?

Cheers

Nick

I'll flag this post to Stu (Mr 968 on here) on the 968UK forum, I'm sure he'll be in touch!

Glad I could help Nick, look forward to seeing you over on 968uk - sad in a way to say, but it's much more active than the 968 section on here! However, do keep an eye on here as Ken Coad is doing lots to get this forum more active, and has already organised some good 968 GTG's.

thanks Dave

its classic grey but it was in real good condition when I bought it, I have only improved it really.

behave yourself Chris, I have checked the ride height its dead on for a standard Coupe, but I do have a set of CS springs[;)]

Long term 944 man but I've just added a 968 cab as my new project- couldn't turn it down with less than 60k on the clock - anyone out there with a lower mileage?

Hope you've also found the porsche968uk forum - our RS on here is trying to get the 968 part of this furum more active, but 968uk is currently still the best.

That is low mileage - I thought mine (92 build, 93 first reg, tip) was pretty good at 74k. I have seen a couple of very low mileage ones for sale over the past couple of years, but at silly money.

My brother's got a trackday modded CS, cover car that featured in GT Porsche a few months back. I'll give him a boot up the backside to get him on here, he's not normally slow in coming forward...
