Sounds like the sunday times car..

ChrisW, some of us do quite a bit to source a car, part of the fun is knowing when a car is up and getting it ahead of the dealers, for less than they would pay for it [;)]

And how would one do that ?

Why would you want to pay less than a dealer would ?

Another one here that doesn't seem to have been mentioned yet?

http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/209141.htm

p.s Is looking at these ads and regularly reading the 964RS board a bad sign?[8D]

Because its Chris's and he only advertised it yesterday!

Does seem to be more and more coming on to market...people chasing profits I guess...more that come on the more prices will flatten and start to drop....then we can all get back to driving them and not worrying about the prices!

Personally I hope they drop to 20k and the 993GT2 drops to 50k....then I can have one of them too!!!![:D][:D][;)]

I've been told that one on Pistonheads has had some panel damage and/or replacement. Don't know how true that is though.

Guys calm down!

In florida at the mo - weather is unbearable - seriously - high 30's today and sticky as hell.

Hoping to pick up the RS as soon as I get back and then Glyn O'Donnell is detailing the RS and the new 996TT on the friday I get back....then you can both have a go...I promise!!!

Ollie - any chance you can fit my new orange scripts before I pick it up????[;)][:D][:D] Chris has it back now....

I'll get the script cut and either supply it to Chris or arrange to fit it.

I'm on holiday though from the 6th for 2 weeks, so it might be a case of Chris fitting it.

Have fun

Cheers

I'm not sure about the panel damage, but it is the case that the car had quite a lot of paintwork done at Autofarm --- all detailed on the invoices, nothing is hidden.

The previous owner said this was because some of the paintwork did not match, which resulted in a complete respray --- rather like the one sold by Pink Pig for the high £40k's.

As an aside, I had the geometry set-up done on it on Wednesday and spent around an hour standing underneath it examining the metalwork ---- this is one very tidy car, but I want a Clubsport --- any offers ? Even the staff at Track Torque said it was the tidiest car they had ever seen.

We are talking about a 15 year old car --- and if it has had work done, who better than Autofarm ?

Chris.

do you want to pay the dealer mark up?

Nicola, if I deliberately paid you less for your car than a dealer would have -- what would you say when you found out ?

Maybe fair pricing between members would be somewhere in-between what a dealer would pay and what he wouls sell at, taking account of the work required ?

No offence meant Chris. I mentioned it on another forum and it was one of the replies.

BTW, I'm the owner of the Pink Pig one and you're right, it has had a complete respray but no panel work. Porsche Reading reurbed it for a display in their showroom.

Sorry, that was me - I nearly bought the car before changing my mind and decided to go for something more track-focused and eventually ended up with a Cup car. I'd spoken to the PO at some length, as well as two other people who'd been to see the car.

Just noticed Strasse are advertising a rubystone 964 RS with 53k kms for £35,995. Seems good value in today's market.

Ian and Stewart -- no problem.

Ian -- I love the sound of your car --- well done --- I am turning Martime Blue with envy (almost !)

The Rubystone Red car is with Gmund --- ex-Willie Green ? and has had a "fullsome" life --- but if Andrew has tidied the essentials it should be an interesting track proposition.

'Just had a dealer in York telling me that there are plenty of unpainted 964RS around. At sensible money, this has not been my experience !

Not sure which Red car is for sale on Piston heads but I looked at one from up north near warrington, owned by a chap called Julian Thompson if my memory is correct. This car had damage all down the lef hand side. New wing, door skin, and filler in rear wing.
