what did you do to your 944 today

Today I’ve done absolutely nothing to my car … but it still passed the MOT without any advisories. First time I’ve managed that! I’m very happy.

Had a look at my brakes - looking a little like Elizabethan canon balls!

Spares obtained, fitted and tested Anybody want a couple of calipers to rebuild????? Had a play with the air flow meter as its running very rich - can see the adjustment, just not sure how far to go! Good news found out how to operate sunroof, well open it anyway and that the air con works!

I really wouldn't play with the AFM Mike. They are factory set with specialist equipment. Do not alter the position of the wiper you will never get it right and may end up running dangerously lean. The only thing I would advise is a clean of the track or repositioning the wiper as per clark's. If you are that concerned I would source second hand or bite the bullet and get a refurb.

Sorted the problem with my sunroof lifting unevenly on the 220, which is a completely different set up to later cars, looking at the roof trim that covers the sunroof workings on my breakfast bar as i type, re glued the vinyl and holding it in place with good old pegs. Bringing the Turbo S up here tomorrow from the other garage as she is going for a front end repaint next week to make her beautiful again. Stripped adjusted and cleaned the ignition switch on my BMW 7 as it was faulty and bringing up all sorts of warning lights and strange electrical gremlins, brake lights permanently on, no horn and some more.........................now sorted happy bunny........full on car fixing day !

After much time feeling guilty about the state of my engine bay and boot spent a good part of the day digging them out and cleaning them. Not exactly a concourse job but looks a whole lot better, which in turn made me feel better [:)] Just got to keep on top of it now [:(]

Thanks Rob, I know the problems of playing with the AFM and am taking it easy, in small stages, checking the plugs each trip, just to stop me being choked by the unburnt fuel! When I think I'm about there, and I've decided if I'm keeping the exhaust, Ill get it set up on a CO machine.

We need pics! [;)]

I know its not a '44, but took my freshly painted '24 to Ace Cafe meet today. Picked it up at 5.30 last night, spent until 11pm fitting as many parts to it as I could. Now need to find the time to refit asap!!

That looks spot on. Is the colour original?? I gave mine a very good clean, 1st since winter. Now I can see the damage the salt has made. I feel a trip to my local body shop soon!

Drove it[;)] First time in 5 months, had it delivered back after a massive amount of work following a cam chain failure. New head (recond) new cams, belts, tensioners, de cat pipe, water pump and performance air filter kit. Still got promax chip to fit but going to put a few miles on first. New MOT oil pressure guage fixed. still got a couple of things to sort out but driving very nice thank you Had it professionaly cleaned as well, shame its snowing up here. Stephen

haven't touch mine this weekend. Off for a week starting friday hope to get the floor in and sills done when I am off.

Washed and made her all sparkle again, added £50 juice and went for a 80 mile drive through the lovely Essex countyside. It started to rain 15 miles down the road ending up in a total downpour by the time I was on the way back. When I got back to Colchester it hadn't rained here[][][] Still at least she had a good run[;)]
