what did you do to your 944 today

Drove back from Oxford in her, been down there a couple of days seeing family. She didn't miss a beat and was a joy to drive [8D]

Followed Phil in his 356 A cab to the sea and back. Both of us with roofs down and soaking up the sun

and yes the ABS light has come up [8|] and yes my son took the photo for me, one that was aleast with the subject matter in focus and straight ish.. after cropping [:D]

Removed front ARB (broken clip after the Ring trip) replacing bushes and clips.Replacing thermostat at the moment.

This WE on my 951 : - MAF cleaning - air filter cleaning On a friend's 951 - rear shock absorber changing - instalation of audio system - sun roof setting - rear wipper instaling/reparing - front anti-roll bar mounting - cooling system purging - some other little repair on another friend 951 - setting the knock detector

took OUD to the spray shop for sill repairs. Spray shop boss loved the car and commented on the fab paint. Audi quality see!

Swapped gear levers between a 924 S and a 944 turbo, took out and put back in a driver seat with faulty electrics, took a friend to adjust the knock sensor device (which he did along with doing in his trousers), and drove the car 700 miles!

Bonnet, and roof machine polished last week. Badge panel area repainted. Now just need to work out how to get the wretched Brake Pad warning light turned off.....pads are fine, though wires have been cut and patched that many times....

Used mine today to take the Mountain Bike to The Look Out in Bracknell. Was a really nice drive until the steering went from really tight and responsive, to half a turn to move the wheels causing me to nearly bin it mid corner. Looks like some spannering tomorrow.

ORIGINAL: pixie*porsche Ordered parts to *HOPEFULLY* arrive tomorrow! [:)] Decided to convert the PAS to a manual rack in the end so wish me luck!
Good luck with the conversion pixie, mine has keep fit steering, you wont need to go to the gym ever again[:D] Did you try OPC for parts? Cheers Andy

Very tempted to do this myself as after I bolted the rack back on (oops) I noticed that every part of the PAS is leaking, I knew it had a leak just not quite so many. Let us know how it goes.

Andy, I rang around 10 parts places yesterday - OPC was a waste of time, they don't ever seem to have anything in what I want and for these part they were very expensive! Ended up going with Porscheshop. Parts were in and cheapest! James, I'll do a write up of the job, I've already strippd the old rack off the car. Is your car an oval dash? If so I think theres something extra over mine to do. <Edited by John Sims - We don't do derogatory remarks about suppliers here. Porscheshop are great supporters of our Club and you have every opportunity to take up any issues you might have with them directly.>

With OPC's I have found if they don't have the part they get them in very quickly, for example I asked OPC Reading for a set of head studs and their parts guy said they would have to order them in from Germany. I was expecting a bit of a wait but they rang within 2 days to say they were in and it was cheap too.

Perhaps you would care to highlight the "derogatory comment" that I apparently made about Porscheshop? I quite clearly stated that Porscheshop gave me the best deal since A) they actually had the parts I wanted and B) they were the cheapest, despite negative remarks from some quaters directed at them. I have nothing but praise for Porscheshop. I ordered my parts yesterday lunch time and they arived before 9am - can't beat that sort of service. Probably why I continue to be a repeat customer... A word of advice, Mr Sims; - before tinkering with posts and jumping on the high horse, perhaps you aught to read them properly first and direct your remarks at the appropriate people instead of wrongly and unfairly accusing me of untruths...

Had a 300 mile round trip to Bruntingthope for some photos and a blast around the airfield circuit and a few down the runway. Top day out!
