what did you do to your 944 today

ORIGINAL: pixie*porsche ......A word of advice, Mr Sims; - before tinkering with posts and jumping on the high horse, perhaps you aught to read them properly first and direct your remarks at the appropriate people instead of wrongly and unfairly accusing me of untruths...
Thank you for your advice Ms. Pixie. I'll remember to copy what you typed before I delete the pertinent remarks in future. It is a tad tricky to highlight something that is no longer there. I am delighted to hear that you are satisfied with Porscheshop. They are obviously a supplier you don't love to hate after all.

Carrera - is your car in this weeks edition of Classic Car Weekly? Surely there can't be two of them liveried in British Railways "blood and custard"? [;)]

I can imagine it to be incredibly hard to copy / paste something that didn't exist in the first place...

I think our Mr Simms is being a little selective here considering the many comments about Porscheshop in other posts this last week where his timely intervention seems to have evaporated. I have used them twice recently for a throttle cam (cheapest) & some front lowering springs (when I called in to pick them up,the price was different ie higher than that quoted on the 'phone but I think still a bit cheaper than Demontweeks )-I can't see anything wrong about comments on here at all-however it is still "buyer beware". Smacks of "big brother " to me.

Pixie - you implied everyone didn't love them but in stronger terms, some people don't dislike them, some do

I haven't seen the weekly yet, but there are 3 cars I know of in these colours. Mine, a fellow 924 owners club member and one for sale at Pie Performance. The fellow members car was shot for Practical Performance Car approx 18-24 months ago for a 924 turbo feature. These shots have found there way into a publication or two. EDIT: I have now seen the article. It is the other car mentioned above. Not a bad review of the 924, its now 'officially' a classic [:)] However how 'appreciating' it is I am not so sure. Many of the wider classic car buyers still turn their nose us at these cars. Except Mark K who continually wins for the most appreciating comments towards them, thanks Mark, the tenner is in the post [;)] PS When will they ever quit with the VW LT engine crap!! Never mention the engine originated in an Audi saloon before both, and its only the block casting that is shared with an LT, nowt else!!

It's impossible to please everyone when you write forum rules and try to administer them. I don't think many people here want this forum to have a "name and shame" area, or encourage that sort of post. In fact other forums are cracking down on it as it's open to abuse, and what's the point of a long list of complaints? Not exactly interesting reading. The majority of users of this forum, both members and guests, say they would rather it was kept more moderated than other forums and not allowed to become just another place for shouty people to gang up together; there are plenty of other forums people can go to for that. Without knowing the words removed from Pixie's post it's hard to know what context it was edited in, but of course if you don't like it there is always the option to appeal it, so I can't see any purpose in complaining on the forum. Can we just get back to not running individuals or businesses down for the small percentage of their transactions that go wrong? If there's a particular problem then why not speak to the owner of the business, or go through the Club as we do have regular contact with many of the traders and it's easy to pass on questions or complaints, and give them a chance to put it right.

Oh ,Paul-aren't you a little luvey!
Not sure how I'm meant to take that, Colin, so I'll assume it's a compliment! [&:] I am only a volunteer trying to do the impossible task of keeping everyone happy all the time. We're always open to more people stepping up and offering to help, or comments on how the forums are run.

I think 924 and 944 turbos seem to be on the up as far as I can see, from the ones I've seen for sale recently. [:)] I've never actually driven a 924 and would be interested in having a go. Not sure a 924S would be any different to drive than the early 944 I have but the 2.0 litre and the turbo I'm sure would be different. I considered a 924 turbo when I bought my current 944 but decided it wasn't for me - not really a fan of the power delivery of a turbo car can certainly appreciate them for others though. [:)] When we're talking "wider" classic car buyers, I don't think Porsches in general seem to be on a high priority, the "wider classic car buyers" tend to go British IMO. Jon and I buy and sell classics as a hobby and nearly all our cars are MGB's (be that roadsters, GTs or factory GT V8s). We deal nearly always with MGs as they are easy to get bits for and very loved by alsorts of people! German stuff IMO as far as classics go is being different! [:D] Now wheres that lovely BMW E9 I was looking at ... [:D][;)]

my s2 going for belts and service tomorrow at pie-performance of milden suffolk [:(][:(] so all going to plan she will be out over the bank hols i hope [:D]

I finished my conversion to manual steering just before it was due in for an MOT - pleased to report it passed with flying colours and NO advisories. [:D] Proud of my Porsche today, did not let me down [:)]

So how you finding it after the conversion?

Not today but yesterday evening. Couldn't be arsed to post last night. Finished refurbing my calipers and got them bolted on - pics to follow. Got some fluid in the system but still need to bleed it properly. Thought I would try and start the old girl after being standing for a month. Not holding out much hope I turned the key and she sprang into life on the first turn. Very proud of my little girl I was [:)]

Not mine but local S2 came round with iffy popups and mot today! Working when relay wiggled so swapped with one of mine - still the same, but traced to iffy connection block. Edit / update - Passed! Another one on the road for another year!
