what did you do to your 944 today

I saw it for the first time since January today [8D] What started off as a single sill replacement turned into an almost full restoration, but boy does she look good now. Hopefully get her back tonight, just needs all the trim re attaching and a final flat and polish. Very excited [:)]

Thought about cleaning it, not sure it's dirty enough yet, though? [8|]

Give us a chance! Just got her home. She is looking AWESOME, better than she ever has since I bought her in '98. Now I'm planning a full interior retrim in the Autumn if I can get hold of a few metres of that new run of Linen Pinstripe I'll take some quick pics on the driveway now

You are in the rare situation where I have to ask.. Which one?

It may be the S2, which Paul bought before he got corrupted by turbo ownership - like others [8|]

Yeah it's the S2. LIL the 3.2 Turbo is a track car, and I simply can't afford to track her at the moment so it will be a long time before she see's the light of day again [:(]. The S2 was borderline MOT failure on the drivers sill so I had to bite the bullet and get that sorted ASAP. As is usual with me it 'sort of snowballed' [:-] and I've ended up having nearly all the panels resprayed, luckily I had it done as a trade favour in between other jobs which is why it took nearly 4 months. Hopefully I won't have to do it again for another 21 years, so I've already booked her back in for the year 2032 [;)] Here's some quick pics on the camera phone - I'll leave our resident expert Mike to get some good ones if he happens to be at the Silverstone Experience

Oh, and there are three things still to go back on the car for any of you eagle eyed 944 anoraks - er I mean enthusiasts :ROFLMAO:

Very nice! - Side trim on the front wings? - Stoneguard Stickers - a wide paint protection front shield to protect her from the next 21 years of stone chips? [:)]

Looks really good, bet you are pleased I remember getting mine back 8 years ago its a great feeling thinking it looks like a new car!! Bump Strips Clear stone guards PCGB sticker

I drove mine to Bristol and back today (348 mile round trip), and have managed 340 miles before getting down to quarter fill, and that is in spite of putting normal fuel in for the first time in over 6 months.... I drove really slowly all the way down there and didn't notice the fuel difference, but on the way home I made 'Relaxed progress' riding the boost in 5th as the traffic calming measures moved into the other lanes and found that it has lost the top end grunt and smoothness, so hopefully I can afford to start using it again next month (I obviously had to do a couple of full-out acceleration test runs as well for completeness)

I count four things missing? -wheel arch liners -plastic under trim -front arch bump strip - stone guards Looks very flat and smooth though, bet that looks really sexy in the flesh. It's annoying when the paint is that good. They look the same in the photos, you only get the wow factor in the flesh.

Thats Luuurvely! Checked in on OUD who was being tortured by sander today. Some rust uncovered at the front of rear wheel arch but the sills look sound so its just some minor patching before the respray!

Nearly, but will be by the end of the week Missing bits were: undersill trims stoneguards rubbing strip on nearside front wing Well done anoraks [:D]

After another apres respray mopping of the paint last week I managed to get a couple of coats of Carlack 68 paint sealer on the car tonight. Finished just as the heavens opened and quickly got it in the garage. I have used Carlack a few times on different cars. Can thoroughly recommend it. On good prepped paint it makes it feel as smooth as a babies bottom afterwards.
