what did you do to your 944 today

ORIGINAL: Fat Albert I put more Oil in mine! I then parked up outside the station ticket office to buy my train/car park ticket, when I came back out found a young Blonde girl wondering around my car, she apologised and said that she was just admiring it! We had a quick conversation but my train was due so had to go and park up! That's not happened before [:D]
You clearly missed the 'signals' or you are gay!! [:D]

Booked it into Ninex to have more work done. Its lovely to drive, but I've never owned a car that was such a money pit. Just under 4k in about a year. as someone commented the other week at the R19 meet "is there anything you havent replaced yet?". The answer is, the clutch slave cylinder... Until next week. Now wondering if I should have bitten the bullet and stumped up for a 4 year old Cayman.

Most excellent ! the water pipe which runs fore and aft of the engine above the exhaust manifold often corrodes.

I was receiving the signals....just being a married man and in need of catching a train....she was pretty though!

I've heard of these mythical 'signals' too. I'm not exactly sure what they are though! The Count, that's a fantastic thread! I'll be checking back to see how that rebuild progresses. It looks very impressive so far.

Shampoo'd the boot carpet, fitted the new floor mats then gazed in awe at the shiny new S2 badge for the rear and the unshiny set of plastic nuts to reattach the under sill trims at the weekend. Can't decide whether to paint the wheels before next weeks Silverstone experience? They look absolutely fine but they are now nowhere near as shiny as the rest of the bodywork

Replaced the washer bottle. Replaced the whining (when cold) alternator/AC belt drive belt. Fixed the sunroof trim by adding the three missing clips that the previous bodger handn't [8|] Replaced a couple of missing screws (sunroof wind deflector and below the steering column). Re-lubed the drivers' seat runners. Replaced the indicator side repeaters (same "original" style just not cracked / hanging out). Replaced front speakers for something that produces music rather than a muffled squeak.

In about 3 hours I am collecting a 1984 944 Square Dash in Zermatt. I have seen the history file and its like nothing I have ever seen before. Last year it had new discs/pads new brake lines/flexible hoses new cam and balance shaft belts new tensioners new waterpump new plugs/HT Leads new dizzy cap and coil new balance shaft seals new camshaft seals new alternator new flywheel new clutch new steering shaft bearing new rear wheel bearings sills replaced sunroof seals replaced All done at a Porsche Specialist in London and the car has done appox 3000 miles since. And its a sunny day. Bliss!

Nice one Steve, I will look out for you wazzing around when I get back to Huntingdon from the smoke later! I pulled into the station to buy a ticket again today and guess what? I was being smiled at by a female again! Only this time it was one of the Mums from my boy's class...

You been using Lynx again??

Just fitted a Carbon bonnet to my Race car[8D],hope it stays in one peice throughout weekend!

Just got the seal that was missing in all the parts needed to replace the radiator and pink, VAG-approved coolant... but the weather has been sooooooo good these days that working on the car is the very last thing I feel like doing, let alone sweating in the driver's seat [8|]

Am going to Rockingham tomorrow but won't be taking my newly acquired 1984 944 as its losing coolant. Strange really - I drove 180 miles and no probs but when I put it on the drive and switched off it started to pump out coolant. No pressure in the rubber hoses, just coolant coming out. Bit baffled but taking my other 944 instead which has just had all new brakes discs/pads. Any body got any ideas about coolant loss. ?

Gave it a thorough hoovering, hot bath, cleaned all the glass, checked the fluids, then off down the garage to check tyre pressure then........... Drove it home and asked for its forgives for thinking of sellling it to buy an Alfa [:D]

great read, keep up the good work :)

Today I fitted the new rear badge, fitted the new armrest (thanks Sulzeruk) and then temporarily fitted my track wheels so I can paint the road wheels this week. However, now that the track wheels are fitted I'm really tempted to paint the road ones black too [8D]
