what did you do to your 944 today

Returned home with it after 625 mile round trip tour of Scotland for Alasdair's stag do. Had a MY86 911 carrera and MY80 911 turbo for company! Seriously good weather and amazing roads. If anyone has not toured the Scottish Highlands in their 944 you really ought to make plans to do it soon. Stuart

Stuarts car on the road to where we were at Glen Garry on the side of a hill watching the Scottish Six Days Trial. This was taken from about 3/4s of a mile away on the main road! It was so easy to spot amongst the other traffic with the long bonnet glinting in the sun in that lovely goldy colour!

A most enjoyable few days away and the weather was excellent for the majority! Alasdair

Replaced the broken door pin with the LED indicator. 17 screws to remove the door card and speaker pod etc. Impressed with how clean an dry card is. Extra speakers amp seems to bemade by Nokia - first time I've seen anything other than phones from them.

Swapped all front ARB rubber over for new ones and replaced the 'clips' after I broke one on the Ring.Turned out the failed clip was bolted on wrong [].Amazing difference in the front end [:D]. Installed new thermostat (after receiving a shim from Alasdair, Thanks mate)which cured the hot running problem.Swapped my front speakers to the rear, replacing the manky old paper blaupunkt ones and installed new blaupunkts in the front.

Met up with Northern924 and had a run out around the giant playground that is Northumberland.

Got two coats of Collinite Marque d'Elegance wax on the car. I don't want to drive it and get it dirty now. Its shinier than a new pin and as smooth as a babies bottom. All ready for next weeks 924 get together in Coventry, Poole Quay the week after and the Porsche show in June.

Yesterday had new tyres Khumo KH35s 205/55 16 and 225/50 16 and took a brisk run up to see the Britcars at Donington. No 944s but I did like this 993.

Used the 944 to transport my downhill bike, so both money pits out to play. Scared myself on the way there then scared myself once there, a perfect afternoon. Bimble home again.

We certainly did!! very spirited it was as well, as Davo said "I might not do many miles in it but when I do I wring its neck" Saw a Aston being followed by a very nice light blue 993 who may well have been heading upto the Keilder car show, also an MGB further down the road. Was great to drive on across from Knowsgate to Redesdale with the only annoyance being the damned cyclists!! Sadly thats probably going to be my last run out in a 944 for a while [:(]

ORIGINAL: Sly This WE I rebuilt my original 951S engine with all spare parts, I found in my garage.
Can you post pics in the Engine Build Progress thread?
I didn't take any pics of this quick "rebuilt", but the original rings were completly dead as all the rod bearing. The cylinder wall have some scratch but I thing they can run some more kilometers. One piston (the 4) have some knock scratches between the top and the first ring, this have make some scratch on the cylinder wall.

Nice One Pixie ! I love the P5 white with a Black roof please, took my 220 down to the Ford RS show at Kendal this weekend, gave her a good blat up the M6 which did her the world of good, cured the leaking oil pressure sender but ended up in A & E Friday night with a foreign body in my left eye after some grir found it's way in there when under the car.................hurt like nothing else ! Black Turbo S back this week from paint, then serviced new fuel filter Tax and MOT.

Drove mine to Bracknell and back today (via Oundle this morning to drop the kids at school) and it clicked over onto 212k miles on the way back! Had my first incident of being behind a Mercedes when it went into emergency brake mode (flashing brake lights, the works) on the M1 this morning. I stood on the brakes and then noticed the already small gap behind me diminishing, so moved towards the central reservation to allow the Civic a bit more braking distance alongside...[]

I put more Oil in mine! I then parked up outside the station ticket office to buy my train/car park ticket, when I came back out found a young Blonde girl wondering around my car, she apologised and said that she was just admiring it! We had a quick conversation but my train was due so had to go and park up! That's not happened before [:D]

This is what ive been up to with mine recently if anyones interested [:D] [link=http://retrorides.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=readersrides&action=display&thread=102454]http://retrorides.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=readersrides&action=display&thread=102454[/link]
