what did you do to your 944 today

Discovered that someone appears to have done a three point turn in the street and used the side of my 944 as a substitute for looking in the mirrors. Have a dent the size of the palm of my hand in one of the front wings. Not in a very good mood today...

[:(] Someone did that to me a few years ago. Admitedly it was the fiesta, but at the time I was a poor student and it was the best I could afford. I was proud of it's un-marked condition so I was livid when I found the fist sized dent on the wing. I don't want to think how annoyed I'd be if someone did that to my 944 now! Well today I put the tax disc in my car. I had just put a tax disc in the fiesta too...the difference between the cost of the two discs still astounds me.

sorry to hear that Ian. my car got keyed last month after 5 years of careful protection so I know how you feel. It might be worth looking at the hair dryer and compressed air dent treatment if the dent is in a flat part of the panel. [link]http://youtu.be/q0UAUBE-Hmg[/link]

Ian, Very sorry to hear that. I guess that to55ers will always be around, and will always do such things. I fear for my sanity the day that this happens to me ... Nick - does that actually work? Have you tried it? Oli.

Horrible when that happens, had it in the van a few years ago, really annoying and its only a company van. Fitted new distributor cap and arm - smoothed out the engine loads, especially at idle [:)]

watch the video Oli if you do a search on youtube there are dozens of examples showing the panel dent snapping back out with absolutly no damage [;)]

ORIGINAL: JamesO Today I have been mostly damaging my car. After taking advantage of the nice cold air/boost, my car developed some loud expensive sounding noises from the back end when rolling. Typically I havn't got around to sourcing/putting new bearings in the other transaxle yet.
Big relief! turned out to be the handbrake springs making a bid for freedom. All fixed and rolling again in under an hour. Just coincedence the noise started after a spirited pull away.
Phew! I do like it when that happens

Since mine has gone a whole week with no nasty surprises I bought it some gifts. Replaced the worn gearlever, fitted a new heater clip (previously had a choice of blast furnace hot of freezing) and replaced a missing headlamp rubber. Plus its started snowing, I can't wait to try my winter tyres!

Well today I put the car in suspended animation and then decided it was too cold to do anything else.

I did the opposite Scott! I drove the 175 miles to Bristol for a meeting, then 95 miles to Slough for Dinner, then the 100 miles home! (800 miles so far this week...)

At least there was a point to your journey, Scott. I drove 250 miles today for a meeting that didn't happen. But it could have been worse - I could have been in one of those end-of-the-line, run-out, paltry 210 bhp Turbo look-a-like models. Heaven forbid.[:D]

I also enjoyed the journey home from Slough at 10:00pm Ewan, nice empty M25 and A1 meant I could just leave it in 5th and surf the Turbo Torque Wave, did the 100 miles home in around 80 minutes [;)]

Drove it to work. I was dissapointed that i couldn't get to drive it to Rutland at the weekend so I decided to brave the ice and the Peterborough drivers this morning. I may have slowed down and dropped into second before booting it a few times along the access road into work. That engine noise is incredible! I'll have to get the garden hose out to give the underside a good de-salting tonight
